Absolute perfection

There is only one other flat iron on the market that has 100% ceramic plates (everyone else's "ceramic" flat irons have ceramic-coated plates), and it retails for $400. I can't imagine that $400 would buy you a better iron than this. It's a sad truth that professional irons are exponentially better than their drugstore counterparts, so start saving. Hana's iron is small and nimble. The c...read moreord swivels and the ergonomic handle makes straightening even the back of your head a snap. Even at a low heat setting, my ironing time was halved. The all-ceramic floating plates ensure that this glides over your strands and gets the job done the first time--the only sections I had to do twice were those with cowlicks. And this really does glide. There's absolutely no snagging or tugging, and you can barely feel it running over your hair. The results were perfectly straight, extra shiny (the shine, my goodness, the shine!) hair that lasted for two days. I was also stoked that this delicate iron came with a pouch, a sleek metal box, and a heat-proof silicone mat. Hana sure knows how to make a girl feel special. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

love love love this flat iron. Although after a year or two with any flat iron, I need to replace it due to the electrical shorting...any suggestions?

I agree - Hana is overrated

I totally agree with you. My hair is thin and not curly - its just frizzy. This iron took almost 25 minutes to straighten my hair, and it's not even pin straight. And there is STILL FRIZZ!!! I had to go over my hair many many times. I don't understand reviews on the Hana say that it is so great and they only go over their hair once - that is so not true! I called them and am returning it tomorrow.

Overrated

After reading all the glowing reviews about the Hana, i bought one for Christmas. I have been using the HAI stik for about 2 years now and i wanted something HOTTER, i have a lot of hair so i wanted to get the sleekest look possible to minimize volume. I ordered the Hana and once i turned it on and started to use it I admit, I was disappointed. Although it was smoother than my HAI, meaning it did...read moren't make that scraping noise going through my hair, it just didn't feel as hot as my HAI. The HAI goes to 400 degrees F and this one goes to 450, so i was expecting a better result. I had to go over the strands of my hair at least twice, and my hair is not super curly or coarse. It is slightly wavy and medium texture. I didn't want to have to pay to ship it back to Missiko, so i just kept it and swallowed the pill. It has a cute case and plastic mat which is a nice perk, but you might get better results with a Chi or HAI, and you can get the HAI way cheaper online, like $65. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but the Hana is just a little overrated in my book.
