Really nice primer under makeup

This product really does make you skin feel like velvet after applying it. It does not irritate my sensitive dry combo skin or cause breakouts. It makes my skin matte, softer, and smoother looking under makeup. — 3 years, 1 month ago

Uncomfortable

This primer has a velvety texture true to the name of the product, gives you more matte look, makes your makeup go on smoothly, but it leaves a coating on my skin that feels uncomfortable for my oily skin. It gives a barrier that doesn't let my skin "breathe" and my oily skin feels trapped inside. If you have dry skin that needs a protective layer, then, this may feel OK, but those people usually don't need matte look to start with. — 2 years, 6 months ago

great primer

This primer has a smooth, velvety texture, it fills in lines and covers imperfections, and gives you a nice, smooth canvas for your makeup. It is definitely one of the better primers I've tried. My only complaint is that I prefer to use products that have a little SPF in them for sun protection, but other than that, this is a good product — 8 months, 3 weeks ago

If I could I would give Velvet Skin Coat 20 stars. It is a very good, easy to use very nicely priced product! I use to use a similar product from Neutrogena that is no longer made, & I was lost. Then somehow I received in the mail a sample and catalog from DHC. I am so happy! This is my daily staple in my routine, it makes my skin look flawless, it control oil better than anything out there, it works under makeup over makeup, alone. It just simply is wonderful and $20.00. I swear by the Velvet Skin Coat!

I used about 10 products before trying velvet skin coat and once I used it, I was hooked ( have to be honest, I keep trying others just to prove my point that VSC is the best...). I use Bare Minerals for my face makeup. Before I tried primers, I was ready to give up on mineral powder makeup. I couldn't understand what the big deal was about the powder because it looked just like powder on my face and I didn't like it. Made my skin look old and "made up." So, primer IS crucial under mineral foundation, don't forget that. (Would you paint a wall or your house without putting down a primer coat first?!?!). Another point to remember, less is more. Don't slather primer over your face. Use it sparingly and remember to hit all parts of your face. — 1 month ago

Best thing I EVER put on my skin!

I wish this were a moisturizer because it feels amazing on my face. And not only does it feel great, but I can see a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin looking smoother, more even toned and shine free when I wear makeup. I enjoy wearing this everyday under my mineral makeup or even alone for a trip to the store. From the moment you put this stuff on your finger tips, it even makes the skin on your finger tips feel better. I love this stuff so much! It makes your skin feel incredible and alot of times i don't even need foundation after applying it and I always get complimented on my skin. Good primer

I have to say that this product lives up to its name. the texture is velvet smooth and I was able to cover my skin well, and the make up easy to apply afterwards. I used it first time for our pictures at sears and my skin looks flawless, and that is not the case in real life. I have some acne scars, and open pores that show up and oily t-zone. but it covered those bases. I was happy with the results. My Tip. Cleanse + exploliate moisturize prime — 3 months, 3 weeks ago

DHC Velvet Skin Coat

I recently bought some of the DHC line of skincare, and the Velvet Skin Coat is one of them. This primer is wonderful...light, smooth and since I don'tuse foundation this serves as my one and only face cover along with some translucent powder, I ordered another so I don't run out!
