DHC Deep Cleansing Oil Reviews

Don't Fear This Oil!
When I was a newborn, my mom used Johnson's "Baby Oil" on me daily. While doing so, she discovered a new supple feel to her hands. Her brittle, ragged cuticles began to heal. Then she experimented and used it on her face as a cleanser and a moisturizer, with superb results. She telephoned management at the company and suggested that they recommend that mothers use "Baby Oil" as well. They literally scoffed at her, calling the idea ridiculous. They told her that there were products made especially for women and that this was simply for babies. How utterly ridiculous! I never use an oil-based product without thinking of my bright mother's idea and how Johnson now highly recommends the use of this oil on people of all ages. And then something else comes back to me: Modeling school. We spent literal hours piling on cosmetics of all sorts, most of them heavy-duty and professional. After my first day of working with such intense color, I heard a long but fascinating lecture from a makeup artist on how to remove all traces of products from our skin in the most tender way possible--with oil. She recommended a cold cream (oils themselves were not really fashionable then) and explained that lipids bond with lipids, drawing out all remnants of what we had just applied along with any other remaining dirt and grime. I bought a sample of DHC's cleansing oil and was most impressed. It thoroughly cleans pores and removes even stubborn, waterproof eye makeup (careful here--you don't want to pull out delicate lashes or tug skin around eyes, and this oil makes removal ultra-gentle). Even lip and cheek stains disappear instantly. With my previous experience, I'm surprised that I didn't begin using this years ago. I suppose I feared a greasy residue afterward, but there is none. Your skin is simply soft and radiant, and you can rest assured that you have handled it well. — 3 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 15 people said helpful

Works!
I received a trial size of this. Tried it and it really works on removing makeup very well. Leave the skin so soft and smooth. I had it sitting on the dresser for the longest time, was scared to use it. Wish I had of tried it sooner. Very nice! — 5 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 6 people said helpful

Trying is believing!
Recommended by a friend. I was very reluctant at first because I was afraid of their oil making my skin more oily or break out. I expected that it would not clean properly, and leave a greasy residue. But surprise, surprise! It removed everything including sunscreen, lipstain and mascara, and my face felt smooth and soft too. I am going to buy this again and use this winter because I feel that this stuff helps my regular moisturizer/lotion easier to apply and last longer. This is one amazing makeup remover. The bottle is not an ideal for traveling, but I still love this product. — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 23 people said helpful

Underwhelming
I don't want to burst the cult favorite bubble, but this is not worth the money. I do like the feel and it removes makeup fairly well. That said, so does pure olive oil. I understand that plain olive oil won't rinse as cleanly as this does, but that hardly seems enough to account for the price difference. I don't feel like this is helping to remove "pore cloggers" more than any normal cleanser. Really, I think Clinique's Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser is more effective. I also think this, although not problematic for oily skin (like mine), is more suited to dry skin. — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 5 people said helpful

Just Amazing
Wow this stuff really works! I never thought I'd say that about a cleansing oil but this one has made me a believer. It cleans deepsly and completely removes makeup. Skin feels soft and clean without any oily residue because it's water soluble. Works great alone or as a pre-cleansing makeup remover. Good for any skin type. For oily or acne prone skin I'd suggest it as a pre-cleansing followed by regular cleansing. — 3 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 6 people said helpful

deep cleans well
It is really important to read the directions for this product, because otherwise it's easy to use it incorrectly and think that it just doesn't work. You are supposed to use a small amount on your face before washing, to deep clean and remove makeup, so you do need a separate face was as well. That said, it is a really good product. It removed all of my makeup and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. I was nervous about trying it, as I have oily skin, and I was afraid it would make me break out, but it didn't. It's a bit expensive, and it doesn't have the greatest smell, but it's an effective product that does what it is supposed to do. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

Great makeup remover
This is a great gentle makeup remover and cleanser. It does a great job of removing mascara, foundation, etc. Plus it leaves my skin feeling clean but not dried out. The only bad thing I have to say is that it is a bit pricey but even then I think that it is worth the price! Sometimes I use this as a cleanser in the morning but I tend to reach for it the most in the evening so that I can remove makeup and cleanse at the same time. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful
