Josie Maran Argan Oil Reviews
-
Worth it
volta (516 reviews)I have eczema and rosacea. Finding a moisturizer that can adequately hydrate, plump and soothe, but WON'T break me out has been a pain and terrible on my wallet. I have heard every possible rumor about how Josie Maran's Argan Oil is supposed to be the miracle product that can be used from anti-aging purposes to the hair and everything in between. People I've met who also have eczema swear by this as one drop is adequate to cover nearly both of their hands. This is a super lightweight oil that promises to hydrate, heal, and protect while feeling weightless on the skin. You can use it in your hair to make your hair smooth, silky and frizz-free. However, I've heard some incredible claims about using this product on your face. The first time I tried it on my face (I had used it in my hair several times in the past), I had put a drop OVER my moisturizer at night. I feel that this oil sat on top of my skin because my moisturizer had already penetrated into my skin (my skin often has difficulty absorbing moisturizers). So I was left with a slightly greasy feeling on my skin, but it didn't feel uncomfortable unless I rubbed my hands all over my face. Then the next night, I heard that most people mix a drop of this oil WITH their night moisturizer, and rub the mix over their face. I did that. Although I still had somewhat of a greasy feeling on my skin (again), it was not as bad as the previous night. I tried this again, but put in less than a drop of the oil (more like a slight streak) in the moisturizer, and that was just about right. My skin felt smooth, super plumped and hydrated. I hope that this oil with soothe my skin the more I use it. So far I haven't had a problem with it breaking out (most people claim it doesn't cause breakouts). So I suggest getting a sample of this first (a little goes a VERY long way!) and trying it out for yourself. The hard part is finding the right amount for YOUR SKIN to use that will hydrate but won't leave it feeling greasy. Also, it's a bit pricey considering it's $14 for a small half ounce vile. That little vile will last quite some time though. — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful

Perfect for chapped skin...
powerwoman033 (509 reviews)I received a sample of the Josie Maran Argan Oil and it worked wonders for my chapped elbows, ankles, and lips. I did not really like it on my face as much as Tarte's Maracuja Oil. Josie's argan oil is great for the body! — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Great for hair!
ladyboarder9669 (186 reviews)I've been using this on the ends of my hair. I have really dry hair and lots of split ends and I feel this does a really great job of moisturizing my hair and making it look more healthy and shiny. I love that this product is so versatile and you can use it as a moisturizer for your skin as well and in the bath! — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 5 people said helpful

just ok
taryn.romero (43 reviews)I was skeptical about putting oil on my oily skin but it didn't make me break out at all or add any extra oil which was nice. It seemed like it took a few minutes for it to completely soak into my skin which I didn't like. Argan oil is supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help heal acne scars amongst other things but I didn't notice any difference in my skin at all. It was a little expensive (forty eight dollars for one point seven ounces ~this website wouldn't let me type the numbers for some reason) and it only lasted me about a month. This product is ok but I'm sure that there are other products out there that can do a better job and for less money. I wouldn't buy this one again. — 7 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful

I Love Argan Oil
pynkNymphette (189 reviews)The packaging on this product is fantastic. The dropper makes for very precise application and makes it practically impossible to dispense the wrong amount of product. The oil must be stored in glass otherwise it will eventually eat thru plastic. The amber color protects the oil from light; which will degrade the oil slowly. The oil itself is quite emollient and can be used for a number of things. I personally love to use it in my hair for incredible shine and silkiness. Now my only complaint about this is the price! Simply outrageous. You can get argan oil much cheaper from different companies. I got a 2oz amber bottle on the internet for around $20 and the quality is just as good as this brand. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Good But Expensive
leo1999 (560 reviews)Ditto those that say this oil is fantastic for the skin and hair but it is way overpriced. I got some good quality 100%organic Argan oil at a local health food store for half the cost. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Pricey but
sweettpea29 (205 reviews)I actually like that it doesn't feel greasy. It sinks into the skin immediately. I put this on my entire face, hair and even my scars. All it does is moisturize but it does it without making you feel nasty. I absolutely love this oil just not the price! — 9 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Story...
italiaca (222 reviews)I didn't think this had done much for my skin until I met with one of my best friends who lives out of town. She said my skin was 'glowing' and she wanted to know what I was doing. This was the only change I had made to my skin care regime, and I had just finished my first tiny bottle. I immediately reordered a larger bottle. I struggled with terrible acne when I was in my early 20s so I am uber sensitive to oil products. This has NEVER made me break out. It just give wonderful moisture and sinks right in. If you're on the fence, try it. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised like I was. — 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful

Natural hydration
makeupbyjanalyn (154 reviews)I've never used an oil on my face before using this product so I was a little weary about trying this. I bought this to use during winter since my skin gets dryer. I felt like it was just an okay product... I am also acne prone and while this didn't make me breakout it made my face feel a bit oily and greasy. I would only use a tiny bit too so it wasn't that I was using too much.. I think this product works best more on the body and hair than the face. It just made me look too shiny. — 3 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
