Yummy
Having just run out of the Optic White I had been using, I felt like my teeth were kind of scummy and weak. I figured it might be that I was using a whitening toothpaste, which can be kind of harsh on your teeth, so I started looking for natural toothpastes...something without SLS and Fluoride and not geared toward whitening as I had just read how those tend to be extra abrasive and I'm not trying to destroy layers of enamel I don't have to and recede my gum line just for some momentary whiteness. And I wanted to see if there was anything in a flavor other than mint. Because I've always secretly hated mint toothpaste, but never really opted for the kids flavors, because they were just as obnoxious. Needless to say it was a pretty tall order, and after driving all over town looking for anything fluoride and SLS free, and feeling fed up, I hit up my trusty neighborhood health food store, since I had been up early and they were now open. I walked in and there was a wall of natural toothpastes, most of which were fluoride and SLS free, and I was giddy when I saw this one. Nature's Gate has been around a long time, and I am pretty trusting of this brand, and even though I am an extreme skeptic sometimes when reading ingredients I found nothing that caused an issue for me, so I got it. Many people claim this has SLS in it, but it doesn't. It says so. It has the milder, more natural option of Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate (same initials, but not the dreaded Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfate). It contains some wonderful natural cleaning agents, and having just tried it for the first time, I am very impressed. It really is creamy, it actually lathers well, but its a very natural sort of lather probably caused by the anise oil or Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate; there is a definite difference between this lather and the SLS lather of my former toothpastes. Although my teeth aren't bright shocking white suddenly, they do look much cleaner and therefore a couple shades lighter, and my mouth isn't dry, and it feels as though I just came back from a dental cleaning where they happened to use the amazing flavor of anise. It's a nice alternative to mint that is an adult-friendly flavor, and if you hate the idea, they have plenty of mint flavors offered as well. I feel like I have fresh breath and a really clean mouth without any burning or stinging or discomfort. This "antioxidental blend" has earned a permanent place in my bathroom, and is perfect for me, so definitely give it a try if you're open to trying something new, natural, and wonderful. — 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

don't like taste
I like all natural products, but this toothpaste has kind of a funny taste that I don't much like, other that that it seemed to work good. — 4 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful
