Not great
I once read in a magazine that the one beauty item you should spend big bucks on is makeup brushes. I didn't listen. They were right. I use my friends brushes all the time, they're brand name but defenately worth the price. These brushes don't spread shadow evenly and the smudger smudges it weird. If you can't afford good brushes its more worth it to use your fingers (you get more control) to apply shadow and blend.
