N.Y.C. New York Color Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder Reviews

EXCELLENT QUALITY FOR THE $
This is the best inexpensive mineral like powder in the drugstore today. The quality is fantastic for the price. I got mine for about $2. I got it a month ago, and i feel like I haven't made a dent in it! There is no anoying scent, it doesn't have glitter, and the puff it comes with is actually decent. I use my own brush to apply this, because It's just a preferance thing, but I kept the puff. There is so much product in the jar, I just couldn't get over it. I love that it controls my oily t-zone throughout my work day without any touch-ups. I just can't complain about this at all.. There are no cons to this! It's so blendable and it will blow you away! — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Inexpensive Cosmetic Staple
An expensive price tag and a designer label on a cosmetic product doesn't always equal better quality. As a matter of fact, NYC proves this to me. I have Laura Mercier mineral setting loose powder which retails about $32.00 and I own this NYC loose translucent powder jar that only cost a couple of dollars. My better choice is actually is the NYC because it sets makeup with a flawless soft focus finish without leaving streaks or demarcation, it's an ultra soft loose powder that feels like velvet to the touch, and it's versatile because it can be used as a blot powder for any touch ups during the day, however not so convenient. The case is not a twist top jar, it just gets lifted up to expose the product but this can become a chaos because product can fall out to the sides everywhere or fly around. I don't recommend any usage with that coarse sponge puff it comes with, this is most best applied with a large powder brush or a kabuki. For midday touch ups, I'd recommend investing in a velour puff or something more softer and sturdier than the application this originally comes with. Another con is that this should always be stored upright because once product passes through the sifter, it stays mainly atop the barrier and a pile of product basically sits there making messes a more frequent occurring incident. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 11 people said helpful

Fantastic
This is a great product at any price, but the fact that it's about $3 makes it even better. This is the best translucent face powder I have used, its very fine and soft, it makes your face look perfectly and naturally matte and sets makeup very well. However, I would not recommend using the sponge that comes with it, I use a small kabuki. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Impressed!
Much better than I had expected. This powder gets the job done with no added shimmer and scents. I buff a little on my T-Zone using a generic cotton puff I bought. I do wish that the lid was screwed on, though. I accidentally dropped it and the lid did not stay on. To avoid the powder from forming clouds of powder whenever I opened it and to have a light application, I taped the holes and re-punctured them using a small pin. — 11 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great Product
I love this NYC powder! The finish is great, and it leaves my skin feeling very light, almost like I'm not wearing makeup. The finish is matte, always a nice addition. I bought the powder in translucent, a clear color (obviously). It's great, but the problem I have with it is that it is EXTREMELY messy. The powder puff it comes with sucks. It doesn't have a twist cap, it actually has a cap you just pull off, which makes for extra messiness. Be sure to find your vacuum, you'll need it! I was washing powder off my jeans for weeks! However, for the modest $2.79 I paid, I'm impressed with the quality. I haven't seen any changes in how long my makeup has stayed and not strayed, but I'll keep trying and hopefully let you know. However, if you're in the meaning to get a new loose powder, I'd look for this or a higher end product. The texture of this product is mostly very silky and smooth. Be warned, however, the packaging is quite bulky. The product does last a long time. The powder comes out the top through a sifter, and the packaging suggests when you first open the product to take off the covering, make sure the powder puff is on the sifter and shake it. DO NO do this..this caused a terrible mess all over my carpeting! I had to vacuum it all up..haha. Sooooo. I think otherwise that this product is great and you should purchase it. Sorry that this review jumped around a lot..I am very tired and will be reviewing more products soon! :) — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Great product.
I love this loose powder! It's inexpensive (about $3) and it's a lot of powder. I don't recommend using the spongy powder puff that came with it; instead, a kabuki or even just a big face brush will work. It has a bit of shine to it, but it's not too much for everyday wear. And my favorite part: it doesn't make me look cakey! It helps with my oily skin. The only downside is that the lid doesn't stay on very securely, so if you knock over the jar, powder will get everywhere. — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Awesome price. Awesome product.
I got this for $3 from walmart (my first loose face powder ever) in the summer and i still have alot of it! this is so silky and soft I use it to set foundation and I even use it to set eye shadow. It doesn't lighten the color of it, it sets the eye shadow and makes it last all day, sometimes I'll accidentally rub my eye, but the eye shadow is still there! this is an amazing product for an amazing price. I can't get over how it blends so flawlessly into my skin. You can use a light amount for a dewey finish or a little more fore a matte finish but i wuldnt suggest using the pad it comes with unless your setting concealer and don't want the brush to rub it off. Other then that I use my big, fluffy elf powder brush for the rest of my face. thank you for a Good product nyc! — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

My Favorite Face product!
I don't wear foundation because I don't need lots of coverage so I just use concealer and this loose powder to even out my skintone and set the concealer. It always makes my face feel super soft and silky. My face never gets oily or shiny when I use this, unless it's like 90 degrees outside. The sponge pad that comes with it is pretty much useless so I use a mini-kabuki brush with this instead. I Love how this feels on my face! It's inexpensive and it works! I've had this product for about a year now and not even a quater of the product is gone out of the jar and I use this pretty much everyday! You get alot of product, great quality product for a small price! Though the bad part is I can't bring it on trips because if you shake it alot of product cmes out and when you open it, it will go everywhere! I just keep it standing upright all of the time and shake it lightly to get product out. — 2 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful
