I'll Take Too Faced Over Urban Decay!
It's hard to keep up with the hype about Urban Decay's "Eyeshadow Primer Potion" ($20.00 at Sephora, Ulta, or online). Long after its introduction, it seems that I can't pick up a beauty or fashion magazine without seeing ad advertisement or an endorsement for this. Is it great? Yes. The pros? It applies easily, with just enough product dispensed from the clever tube and its small opening. Originally, it was available only in "Sheer Nude." Now UD's icon also comes in a range of shades--from "Greed" (gold), "Eden" (a tawny matte), and "Sin" (glimmering champagne). I like the ability to use the primer as an enhancement to my shadow, not just a base. And, yes, it does last a long time and makes eyeshadow appear more vibrant. SO WHAT IS MY PROBLEM? A friend gave me Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance" (also $20.00 at the same venues). This colorless potion is available in a tube very similar to Urban Decay's, with a little less "glitz." The formula, with its silicone base, virtually applies itself and then locks to a finish that basically nothing can ruin. Just the tiniest bit--the size of a water droplet--is necessary to cover your entire lid. It sets immediately, so there is no "wait time" in your beauty regimen. (A tube lasts forever!) And, with two great competing products, Too Faced has proven time and again a longer, stronger ability to stand up to long hours, heat, humidity, and the elements. It's a tough choice to make, but I choose Too Faced (Urban Decay is a very close second). — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 10 people said helpful

Eye shadow primer
This and Urban Decay are the best. If I had to pick, I would choose this one. It really allows shadows to stay in place. I also use it under my eye with concealer to keep concealer in place. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 15 of 15 people said helpful

Love it!
It's a little tube, but it lasts forever, definitely a great value. Most importantly, it's a fantastic product, I cannot live without this. Even when I don't wear eyeshadow, I still put it on because it makes eyeliner stay on longer and keeps shiny eyelids away for me. This is a wonderful product. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 13 people said helpful

TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE EYE SHADOW PRIMER
I have a major problem with oily eyelids and eye shadow creasing, even if I use foundation or powder beforehand. I only use MAC eye shadows due to sensitive eyes. I LOVE this stuff. It works beautifully and my shadow lasts from early morning until evening. My only complaint is that it takes a little more blending to apply eye shadow. I tend to wear matte shadows though, which are already less forgiving then shimmery shadows. I was floored that there was actually a product that could keep my eyeshadow from completely disappearing. Oh, I was such a noob.... Since then I've tried so many of the usual suspects, UDPP, ELF, NYX, Tarte, Smashbox, etc... But I've recently come full circle with TFSI and I really love it. It is on the watery side, but I don't find that it affects the longevity of my shadow. My only 'complaint' is that it doesn't do as well of a job covering my eye redness, so if I wanted to do a 'naked eye' for the day, i'll go back to UDPP or ELF because it has more pigmentation. Overall, I'm more than satisfied with this product and will continue to purchase as a staple in my collection. I LOVE this product! I use this every single day and it definitely helps keep my shadow on for hours and prevents intense creasing. I use this for both shadows and pigments alike and I am happy with how it works with both! The packaging is great, good size and the squeeze tube lets you get every drop of it out, so no wasting product! The consistency is light and creamy and is light tinted but doesn't leave any color or residue on the lid like I have found with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. The only thing I dislike about this product is that it does tend to separate, so you have to shake it a little before you use. Definitely a must-have product that I would recommend to anyone and everyone! I used to hate this primer! Everytime I tried it my eyeshadow slid and creased! I vowed to always use my beloved UDPP and never use this again. My, how things change!!! I bought a Too Faced travel set and it included a mini Shadow Insurance. I threw it in my travel bag with a mini UDPP I had just in case I ran out and needed a alternate. One day and I was in rush and had to do my makeup in the car and grabbed this primer. My shadow lasted ALL DAY on my super oily lids! I was amazed! I thought maybe that was just luck and tried it again, Same thing. I instantly fell in love! The thing that I found I was doing wrong is not giving it time to set. If you put this on and let it sit on your eyelids for about 30-45 seconds before putting on your shadow, it will make it last 8+ hours. I now alternate using this and my UDPP and I am happy I gave it another chance. This product is a lifesaver to my eyeshadows. Alone every eyeshadow on the planet will crease, slide, and fade on me. It doesn't matter which brand they are or their quality - my oily lids just kill eyeshadows. TFSI is a miracle worker and holds shadows in place for hours and hours. I do find that if I apply too much primer it won't work so using a little bit is key and building up if needed. I put a tiny amount on my finger, pat it all around my lid and up to my brow bone, then *very* gently rub it in. (Without tugging at the lid!) For new tubes or if the tube has been sitting unused for awhile I find it may be a little watery but this is fixed by squeezing about the tube (lid closed, of course) and shaking it to mix it together again. With regular use this doesn't seem to happen. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 17 of 25 people said helpful

Love this product--my favorite!
Although I love Urban Decay's product also, and find the two products to perform about the same in terms of keeping my eyeshadow perfect, this product is my favorite because it has better packaging. You can really get almost all of the product out without any cutting open of the plastic tube! — 4 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 13 people said helpful

Great
I have really weird eyelids, they are wrinkled basically and it's so hard for me to apply shadow without worrying that it will crease and cake, but with this it went on smooth and actually looked the way I meant it to look! Great and I can't wait to buy a full size tube! — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

long lasting
this is very thick and creamy, easy to apply, and SMELLY! i hate the smell. that is the only con, because it really does make my eyeshadow pigmented(really brings out the color), crease-free, and long lasting. my eyeshadow looks great at 6 AM and at 11 PM. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 9 people said helpful

A little oily but limit/prevent creasing
I recently started using loose powder eyeshadow occasionally, and I noticed that loose powder-based eye shadows do not stay on my lids. A Sephora salesperson recommended me this Too Face Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay Primer Potion. I prefer a squeezable tube, so I got this primer instead. The first a few attempt, runny and oily stuff came out. I rubbed and massaged the tube, then, the consistency was a bit better. Still, it feels a bit oily on my lids. What I like about this primer is that it does not change the color of the shadow. Even with this primer, by the end of the day my shadows still don't look as bold and vibrant as when I applied, but this primer prevents creasing and extends the wear of my eye shadows. The small tube is expensive, but all I need is a dub so I am still using the first tube after 6 months. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 8 people said helpful

Amazing
Everyone seems to be ADDICTED to eyeshadow primers. I love them too, on occassion. I've found that I dont really need it since, I use concealer on and around my eyes and that does enough. But I did try too faced eyeshadow primer because I LOVE TOO FACED. Oh my gosh, their packaging and quality and even prices are amazing. Ok, sorry back to the primer. It has an awesome texture, beautiful anti creasing power, and lasting power. If you dont use much foundation or concealer on and around the eyes this is a great addition to eye products. Even if you just want to go bare eyelid with winged liner (a la lauren conrad) use this! it will make your eyelids look flawless and beautiful. Def recommended! — 5 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful
