    The Worst Ever!!!!

I bought this along with many other Mario Badescu products because I was wanting to find a relatively cheaper brand than the Dermalogica brand that I've been using from Ulta. I also wanted something that worked just as powerful. However, this cleansing gel did not help my skin at all. Each night of using it, I found more and more pimples. Then, when the cystic acne started to show up I ran back t...read moreo Ulta desperate for another product to help me. They pointed me to using Mario Badescu's Buffering Lotion and Drying Lotion. They told me that along with the Enzyme Cleansing Gel, which was in their perspective making the bad acne come to the surface of my skin to purify my skin, this all would control the acne that I was now dealing with. Trusting them, I used all of the products and then the acne got worse, especially the cystic acne. I hadn't deal with this since being a teenager and especially since using Dermalogica. The pimples on my face were hurting and very painful. I have combination dry skin and although the enzyme cleansing gel was not drying my skin out, which was the only thing good about this product, it was not thoroughly cleaning my skin, which caused bad bacteria to build up in my skin. Along with these products mentioned, I also bought the Mario Badecu Vitamin C moisturizer which sat on top of my skin and did not penetrate into my skin to nourish it. I don't suggest this product line to anyone. I have to now recover my face. I just returned all of the MB products and bought again the dermalogica products again. This morning my skin felt great and for the first time in about 2 weeks, I woke up with no new pimples and the pimples I have now that was from using the MB products have drastically gone down and stopped working. This was my fault ultimately for not listening to my skin the time that I went back to ask the workers at Ulta about what's happening to my skin after using the enzyme cleanser, but I wanted others to know about what happened to me. This may not be the case for others, but for me, this has been the worst experience with any product line. — 3 months ago

The Enzyme Gel works so well!

I was used to cleansers that would lather and often dry out my skin but the enzymes in this cleanser leave my skin feeling more balanced and smooth. The smell is even refreshing and it is nice to wake up my skin in the morning when I wash my face. I like to use my Cucumber Cleansing Lotion/Toner after to remove any traces of makeup residue. Perfect cleanser for me. — 6 months ago

    Gentle and effective

I first received this product as a free sample, purchased a full size bottle and have been using it for about two months. My skin is combination, acne-prone (closed comedones are my main concern, some cystic acne) and tends to throw acne and flaking fits in cold weather or dry conditions. This cleanser is gentle enough for the drier areas of my face, but effective at removing oil, dirt and most ma...read morekeup. The bottle has a nice cap for dispensing a controlled amount of cleanser, and you only need an amount the size of a pea to wash face and neck. I sometimes go as extravagant as a dime-sized dollop when removing makeup, or double-cleanse beginning with Cerave's foaming facial cleanser and following up with this and follow with a toner (whatever is around, usually). The cleanser is a creamy gel that smells fresh and a bit fruity. You can glide it on to a wet face or smooth it over dry skin, which I feel works a little better at giving me a "glow" but is harder to manage. I work it in a little with my fingers and leave the thin layer of cleanser on my face for a minute or two, then I rinse with warm water and gently wipe with a wet washcloth. I've also used this with a facial brush. It's a bit strange having no lather, but my face does get very clean. Over time this product has smoothed out the bumpy texture of the skin on my forehead a bit, and I'm having success using it as part of an acne-prevention regimen. If your skin is very dry you might prefer a cleansing milk instead, and if your skin is very oily or you have lots of blackheads you might prefer MB's acne facial cleanser, which has salicylic acid. But for normal skin or combination skin with acne that isn't very severe, this is a nice choice that won't strip your face. — 2 years, 2 months ago
