Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation Reviews

There's Talc in this product
Talc is carcinaginic in that it absorbs into our bodies like asbestos does into lungs - and causes disease. I ordered this from my MK lady and though I loved the color match, coverage and texture, had to return it when I read the ingredients. It was also very dry. I much prefer bare minerals. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

Love this foundation
I love this mineral powder. It goes on smoothly and feels natural. I have worn liquid foundation for many many years but will never go back. I also love the reasonable price. — 3 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Good but a little disappointed
It makes the oiliness of my skin go away, but not for very long. It does cover some flaws but makes the skin have an ash finish by the time your satisfied with the coverage. Great for oil control for a short period of time though. — 3 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

MK really screwed up on this one.
I like quite a few Mary Kay products, but this one I wouldn't buy again even if they cut the price in half. I like the idea of using a brush to quickly swipe on makeup, but I will have to try another brand because it is not quick when you have to find the strands of brush that broke off onto your skin and clean up all the wasted product that fell onto your clothes and sink. My skin reacts by clogging up (and I can wear the Mary Kay liquid foundation without any trouble). There are only 4 shades and they are too light or too dark for a lot of people, including me. It is hard to work with. Don't accidentally get too much powder through the holes because the brush won't work with it and it doesn't go back inside. There has to be just enough powder on top for the brush to swirl into it and pick it up well enough. The length of wear is not long at all. You have to go through all the mess again to keep any sort of coverage because unless you cake it on, it doesn't cover anything and even with caking it on, you still need concealer. Then you obviously can see powder on your face -- so unnatural looking -- and it wears off SO easily. — 3 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

OK as a foundation, GREAT as a finishing powder!
This didn't give me enough coverage to use as a foundation, but I do use it as a loose powder to set my makeup, and it works great for that. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

MK Mineral Poweder Foundation believer
I am totaly sold on MK Mineral Powder Foundation. I do not like foundations because they usually feel heavy and oily (even when they claim they don't). This mineral powder feels light and natural. The fact that it lasts all day is an added bonus!! I only wish MK had a "bonus time"!!!! — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

I really like it
I was using a more pricey minneral makeup line as a foundation and I was only satisfied with the results. I'm all about the benefits of mineral powder so when my sister-in-law had me try the Mary Kay mineral powder I was plesently suprised by the coverage, color and price. I do know that there is talc as an ingredient but Cosmetic-grade Talc is not carcinogenic. so I'm ok with that. yay for saving money and getting more coverage! — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Mary Kay Mineral Foundation
It is a great product that does what it says it will do. A lot of other brands do not have a great selection for Black Women or do not blend in with our skin. My sister is a bronze one like me and we both can use it; unlike me she is she has no brown in her skin and has a differnt undertone but we still fit under bronze one....amazing! I gave it a nine because it gives a very matte look and I have seen other brands that give an awesome glow to the skin . That is okay because Mary Kay makes bronzers too. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

TO ALL bare minerals USERS LOOK AT YOURSELF OUTSIDE IN THE SUNLIGHT!
I used bare minerals for a long time and I finally realized that outside you could see an unnatural sheen on my face. I felt silly to know that it took me over a year to pay attention and I work in the military and am outside quite a bit. Mary Kay mineral foundation does not have that wierd shiny factor going on. Although I think I need to layer a little bit more than the bare minerals I dont mind trading that for the shiny face. Seriously anyone who wears the other stuff take a mirror outside after putting it on and you will see what I am talking about. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
