This is a solid face wash. It removes oil without over-drying and it's reasonably priced. Did it brighten my skin? No. Did it improve my skin's circulation with the mystical properties of Horse Chestnut? Uh, no. Quite frankly, when I see catch phrases like "botanics," I think "marketing ploy." Besides, Horse Chestnut is pretty low on the ingredient list to do much good. I love this face wash! It's simple and refreshing. I didn't think it dried out my face like the other reviewers, but it didn't add any moisture either. The smell is wonderful and refreshing. I think it's great for a simple, everyday face wash. Harsh, stripped my face of all natural moisture, didn't lather, never "brightened" my skin. It was a waste of 7 dollars and I'll never use it again. I haven't had much luck with the boots botanics products in the first place.
