Thanks, but no thanks

After three weeks of trying to make this work for me, I'm throwing in the towel and giving it a lousy review. I read product reviews on Lush's website and tips on their forum about how to properly use SJG. I talked to an SA. I experimented. But in the end, SJG left my nose with more blackheads than when I started. I have combo skin, so it did work well on my dry cheeks to slough of dead skin and moisturize.

Sweet for my face!

I was reeeally skeptical about how slathering oil on my acne prone skin was supposed to be a good idea, but I gave it a try and it's been amazing. Definitely don't skip rinsing it off well with a warm to hot washcloth and toning to remove the excess, if you don't the oils can be a bad thing. If you're sure to get all the cleanser off your face though, it works REALLY well. Love this stuff! Very sweet for combo skin!

I was leary of using this on my combination skin as it seemed like it would be to greasy. But the info on it claimed it was targeted at problem skin so figured I'd give it a go...Wow! Who knew? But since this is a bit messy to use I decided it would work best in the shower and I was right! The only reason it's not a 10 is because it IS kinda messy and is also a bit price-y. But SJG truly is amazing in that it really does CLEAN your face, but also leaves what to me feels like a 'face conditioner' behind that makes my face feel soft and look glow-y! and the smell is SOOOOOOOO good!!

This is deep cleaning and exfoliating. And the little face on the bar is very cute. However, I prefer baby face for removing makeup/cleansing and non-Lush exfoliators. The grains in this are MUCH to big, using it your asking for little scrapes that will leave you red, aggravate skin conditioners and leave you open to acne or infection. It's just so poorly designed. Another Lush loser.

Don't Skip the Warm Washcloth

Although this product is targeted at those with acne prone skin, it can exacerbate your breakouts if you don't remove the product with a warm washcloth rinse. I got careless and skipped that step (assuming that if I left some SJG on I could skip my normal moisturizer) and acne ensued! I prefer to use this product in the dry, winter months.

Unconventional but nice

This is really great if you use it properly, like effectively wash it off with a warm washcloth, followed by toner. I use it once or twice a week, and use lush's herbalism the rest of the time.
