CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara Reviews

Not a Blast At All!
Beautiful lashes are a girl's best friend. Think how Scarlett O'Hara used her dark black ones when she wanted to garner attention from her gentleman friends. We women all seem to be pursuing the "perfect," mascara, the mascara which will give us lashes from here to eternity, so lush and full that we'll need a scythe (not a comb) to work our way through them. At least that's what I want; I wasn't naturally endowed. With auburn hair and fair skin, my top lashes are scant. My bottom ones are lengthy but colorless. "Lash Blast" has been on nearly every top-ten list I've seen when it comes to drugstore brands. Celebrities list it among their "must-have" products. It appears that women simply can't rave enough. So I had no hesitancy parting with my debit card to pick up CoverGirl's sensation. With this, I would be ravenous, sexy--I would be Scarlett herself! HARDLY! The brush itself is quite large--I liked that in some ways. It's actually patent-pending. Clumping wasn't a problem, although I do keep a lash comb handy. Neither was flaking. But my lashes were simply enhanced with color, nicely separated. The brush was a bit awkward to work with on my bottom lashes and I needed Revlon's "Eye Makeup Eraser Pen" often to remove unwanted marks. I wasn't looking for "natural." I was looking for BLAST! And I didn't find it. This is touted to "max out" each and every lash, giving users the "ultimate" big-lash look. NOT HERE! This is a fine product if your lashes are already lengthy and have volume and you want to tint them. Otherwise, leave it on the shelf. One question keeps bothering me; if it is so great, so magnificent, then why did CoverGirl need to come out with other versions of this? Because it's not the be-all mascara it claims. For shame . . . — 2 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Okay, but I've tried better
I like bigger brushes in mascara and that was a plus as this was one of the first mascaras I started using regularly. Over the years I've tried better mascaras that accommodate to what I want, and this wasn't anything special to me; I like extremely dark black and the darkest black that was offered in this mascara wasn't very dark. This is a good alternative to someone who likes big brushes but doesn't want to spend money. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Crispy Lashes
I really wanted to like this . The CoverGirl Lash Blast is all over the magazines, but it made my lashes crispy! Crispy is not a word I want associated with my eyelashes. The only drug store mascara I have found to work OK is the Loreal Voluminous Mascara. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 9 people said helpful

makes lashes hard
i admit, it did make my lashes longer...but thats about it. it clumps even when i dot in on tissue. after a full day it makes my lashes hard and uncomfortable. its like lengthening eyelash gel. at least it lasts. i heard maybelline colossal is way better than this. it has less clumps. dont waste your money on this. you wont want to use it often — 4 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 13 people said helpful

Really like
I really like this product. It really separates my lashes and gives lots of volume. It is not good for multiple coats, however, as it can leave lashes feeling stiff. I also find that this mascara really does need to be replaced every 3 months as it tends to dry out quickly. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 4 people said helpful

excellent mascara!
I have the waterproof version and it is awesome! It really does add volume, and the black is a true black- not a grayish black. Plus, the tube is huge and it is only a few bucks. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Decent
I have heard and seen many positive reviews on this mascara and it seemed like a viable drugstore mascara option. I picked this up from my local Target when it was on sale for just $4.50! This is a nice mascara, but nothing spectacular. For a mascara called volume blast, this actually lacks in the volume department for me. This lengthens and darkens my lashes well, but it does not plump them up or make them look dramatic like I'd expect from a volumizing mascara. Throughout the day this tends to flake off a bit. Thankfully, I do not get raccoon eyes or anything like that from this. A huge plus for me is that this is not a nightmare to remove at night. Many drugstore mascaras feel like glue on my lashes and take forever to remove. I was pleasantly surprised that this came off really easily. I absolutely hate the packaging of this. It is bulky and so tacky looking. If I were looking for a nice drugstore mascara, I might purchase this, but I think I like Maybelline's Great Lash mascara more. — 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

DON'T BUY
It clumps and is super messy! Not worth the price. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful

My Lashes feel SO Lush
This is a great mascara. It never smudges or clumps. The best part is that I bought this in a value pack for $10 at Target. And the packaging is so cute. (I know it doesn't really matter but I love cute packaging). — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

No Clumping
I like this mascara because the wand applies a thick and rich coat of color on my lashes, but the lashes don't look clumpy. They became fuller for a great look and lasted a long time. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful
