Laura Mercier Eye Colour Matte Reviews

Great Quality
I wear the Laura Mercier Sateen Eye Colour in African Violet. It is like a light-medium purple with small gold flecks that blend perfectly into the purple color. It is so beautiful and so perfect for my hazel eyes that I use it all the time and people always compliment me on it. It is neither too purple or too gold, but a perfect satiny/slight shimmer finish. I wear it to work nearly everyday because it is so easy and lasts all day. Merci bien a vous, Madame Mercier! This review is about the LM baked eye colour palette in champagne, sepia, mink, malt and sterling. I would say this e/s requires a wet application to have consistency with the pigments. If applied dry, it is pretty chalky and there is too much glitter fallout. Dare I say it....UD Cowboy rides again. When wet though, creates a soft pretty shimmer and it is buildable. I think this is going to become one of my daily wear staples for a while. The colors are very warm toned and neutral. I haven't tried the brush that came in it. The container is gorgeous and looks very classy. The reason I gave this a 5 for expensive is because it retails at $48 and it has only 5 colors which are very neutral. The reason I got it was I used the Sephora FF sale. I would buy this again, on sale. I bought a LM palette at xmas. It has 6 shades, 2 matte, 2 Sateen, 2 pearl. The colours, are vanilla nuts, coffee ground, gold, green, light pink and Kir Royal. sorry i cant remeber that the other 3 are called. Once i look again i will update this review. I also bought LM limited edition baked eyeshadow set. of the 2 sets, i prefer the 6 colour one more. The baked shades, go on best wet to get colour on your lids. The reviewer below is right in that it is kinda chalky when dry. But it is a really beautful neutral shimmery colour (but not overly shimmery!) LM eyeshadows are really nice. they are really well pigmented the colour lasts me all day (even withought primer). they blend well just great quality in general. My 6 colour palette gives me endless combinations! I like coffee ground, its a great shade for me to fill in my eyebrows. it also works well as a creae colour. the only bad thing i can say about LM is the price... My palette both cost me about $50 AUS. but the packaging is sturdy and they are good to mix and mathc the eye colours so good for travelling. one other thing is that the palettes give you a brush, and OMG, LM brushes are really great!!! they pick up colour so well and it deposits on your lids so well! The eyeshadow brush and crease brush travel duo is my staple every day! I would buy these brushes separatly if i could!! but they are soo pricey! if anyone doesnt like theirs contact me and i would be happy to take them off you! These are some of the best eye shadows I've ever used and I've used a lot of different brands! They're very finely milled so they go on like a dream. Using the proper LM brush also makes a huge difference. Hate the initial expense, but love the look and tend to use it every day thereafter. My HG that I use daily is Bordeaux, which isn't listed on MUA individually for some reason. It's a greyish-brownish medium purple, the perfect neutral for the crease of a green-eyed girl. Makes my eyes pop! Try the ponytail brush to apply in the crease. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Very High quality
This eyeshadow is highly pigmented, finely milled, goes on silky smooth, and very blendable. It comes in great color selection, with the most wearable shades. Allows you to customize in any ways you like into a palette, making this worth your investment. One of the best eyeshadows out there. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Laura keeps it classy
Very few prestige brands offer a decent line of matte shadows, which is a pity because they are so fresh and pretty when done right. Stila and Urban Decay have good mattes, but the colors are extremely limited. Not so Laura Mercier, who proffers a beautiful line of matte shades. These little shadows won't crease, migrate, or wear off before you take them off. They are well worth the high price tag. — 4 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 9 people said helpful

Love This One
A silky, long-lasting shadow that is nicely pigmented and goes on beautifully. I use this as a base shadow over my entire lid, and have never had a problem with it creasing or fading through the day. While the price is a little more than I like to pay for a single eyeshadow, it certailnly is worth the price. I'll be investing in more shades. — 4 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

great quality!
Such a soft, blendable shadow. I have Twilight Grey; the shade is a deep purple-gray and makes a really nice smoky eye on my light complexion. This is my first Laura Mercier item, but now I definitely want to try more. Love it! It's a great shade and lasts a very long time. . — 4 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Hands down one of the best powder eyeshadow color masters
Laura Mercier is SO talented ! The colors are subtle but you need to take the time to use brushes for less is more with her prodcts and you can always deepen the intensity by layering more! — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful

A multi-tasking product!
I have several shades, and use the darker ones as eyeliner! (Laura has a great eyeliner brush, by the way) This stuff does not budge, and the color stays true. Well worth a try, or several tries even. — 4 years, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

These rock: color, staying powder. love them
I'm a makeup ho. I buy EVERYTHING and these are my favorite eyeshadows. The colors are beautiful. They have a lot of pigment, but the eyeshadow is easy to apply and, amazingly, looks so natural. Some colors are irridescent, but they never look too frosty. just try one. You will love it. — 5 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

keeps going and going
This is the longest lasting eyeshadow I have ever used. It lasts forever and it stays on your lids forever, even in high humidity. Worth the price! — 5 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
