Murad Clarifying Mask Reviews

Wonderful!
volta (516 reviews)I work my behind off trying to develop a skin care routine that will improve my sensitive skin and make it flawless. No matter what I try, I always develop some kind of problem, like acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, oil slicks, dry flakiness, etc. I wish I was one of those people who do literally nothing but moisturize, yet still have perfect skin. Acne is probably my biggest concern because it often leads to hyperpigmentation, so I have to work another month to fade those dark spots. I get hormonal acne on my chin like nobody's business, so I've tried almost everything to make that go away as fast as possible. I tried this because I became curious after talking with some people about it. Wash your face, pat it dry, slather on an opaque layer of this stuff, wait for ten minutes, rinse off. Those instructions are simple enough. What I LOVED about this is that it does what it claims; it dries an acne and purges pores. Upon washing this stuff off my face, I noticed several white head roots purged to the surface of my blemishes so that they could be expelled easier. The next day I noticed a significant reduction with my acne, so I am pleased that a product actually does what it claims--it doesn't make any incredible claims. The thing that I didn't like about was that when it dried at the end of its ten minute duration, the dried mask would flake off. Even if you moved your face, dried powder would fall from your face onto your body. This is quite a thick mask too that's a bit of work to spread on your face. The bottle is quite small and you use quite a bit so it's not exactly the most cost effective. This mask is a step up from Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask, so if you're desperate for faster clearing time and willing to pay the price, then I would try the Murad mask. If you can wait a little longer, the Queen Helene mask will dry acne and purge pores as well, but you aren't left with the mess like Murad. I got a deluxe sample of this mask so I can get away with a few uses so I'm going to try this mask every few days during a breakout to see if I feel convinced enough to pay for the full-sized bottle. — 2 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Good mask
ladyboarder9669 (186 reviews)The mask goes on pretty thick but doesn't dry out my already dry skin. I liked the pepperminty scent and it feels cooling on the skin. I liked using the mask and could probably benefit from using it more often. — 8 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Nice
tallredamanda (150 reviews)This is a nice mask and I like the way my skin feels after I rinse it off. Soft, clean and not at all dry. It has a good, thick consistency and the scent isn't unpleasant. I'm only using a deluxe sample I got from Sephora and even that tiny bottle has lasted a long time, though I admit I probably haven't used it as much as I should, so it may have even more results that I haven't seen in action. Normally with masks I sort of just slap them on and wait the time before I rinse them off, but I have found this mask seems to work better for me if I take the time to really massage it into my skin as I'm putting it on. I end up with a thinner layer of the mask than they recommend, but I still think it works better. What can that thicker layer of product do when most of it isn't against your skin, anyway? — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

mattifies and clears pores
LaurelJ (152 reviews)I really like this mask. It really clears the gunk out of my pores, and my skin looks less oily since I've started using it. It isn't overdrying either. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Love Love Love
j_orestano (221 reviews)I use this mask as a spot treatment, and it is the only product I've found that actually helps pimples heal without making my skin dry and flaky. It's pricey, but worth it. — 3 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

LOVE THIS for my Acne!
FromSanDiego (10 reviews)I absolutely love this for my acne. It dried out my pimples overnight and I was able to get rid of them the next day. I have struggled with ance for 6/7 years (I'm 26) and I've finally gotten my acne under control and this product helps tremendously with my flare ups. — 8 hours, 32 minutes agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Works well
beachsugar3 (33 reviews)I really like this! This mask lasted a LONG time. It goes on easily. It helps clarify my skin and "push out" the blackheads around my nose and chin. I use a washcloth to take it off. I have used it as a spot treatment. It works well. — 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

skin looks & feels great after one use!
blondeinnebraska (52 reviews)Dries up all my acne & my skin looks great for days after use. Does have a sulfur smell (from the main ingredient) that lingers, though. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

smells like sulfur but helps with oil control
itsadoozie (88 reviews)Like all sulfur treatments, this smells like rotten eggs, but if you can get past the odor, it actually does a good job at absorbing oil and keeping skin less shiny. The texture is smooth and washes off fairly easily with a cleanser. If used once weekly, it should help keep oil at bay. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Never saw any change
churst (12 reviews)Like most murad products this mask did nothing for me and was yet again another waste of money on a murad product that did nothing to improve my skin. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
