Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Instant Mineral SPF 45 Reviews

One of my favorites
I love this sunscreen to use as touch ups throughout the day. It's a mineral sunscreen that goes on sheer and weightless, so it's perfect for touching up on any shiny spots on your face. The fact that it's a physical sunscreen (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) is a great thinkg because physical sunscreens don't require indoor time to become effective like sunscreen lotions usually require 15-30 minutes before going outside. Just open the cap, and brush it on; the powder easily disperses through the bristles. You can use this ANYWHERE on your body, from your face, arms, chest, etc. I do recommend using this primarily as a touch up sunscreen, so you should still wear a liquid or spray on your skin, and then after two hours when you need touching up, or if you become oily or sweaty, then this is a good product to have on your person. It's VERY portable, so this can fit in your pocket everywhere you go. When you're done applying it on you, just pull the base out, and that will pull the brush back inside. Then place you cap on and push the base back out. Do be careful with handling this product because it is very delicate and powder can get over you if you're not careful. Also, it's difficult to see how much powder you have left. Although this lasts for a very long time if you don't waste too much of it, it would be nice if the tube was clear so you can see when you're low. You can open the bottom of the tube, but you are 95 percent likely that you're going to spill a bunch of powder all over you. This hasn't made me break out and it gives me a nice finish because both titanium dioxide and zinc oxide tend to reflect light. It might not be your friend if you're getting pictures with flash taken of you, but if you're walking around outside, it's okay. This is $35 a tube, but I think it's worth it because I do feel that it protects me well in the sun. I haven't had a single sunburn in using this to touch up in addition with my liquid sunscreen. A COOL tip--for people with blonde, thinning, thin or receding hairline, or if your scalp tends to burn easily; brush this into your hair and it's a great way to keep your scalp from burning if you aren't wearing a hat. — 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

Very easy to use.
Just dab the brush all over your face to deposit the sunblock powder. No need to blend like you do with powder makeup. It does not affect your makeup nor leave you with sticky fingers from creamy sunblocks. Whether or not it actually deposits enough sunblock for adequate spf protection is difficult to determine. I only use this to reapply throughout the day. I always use a liquid sunblock in the morning. Even though you get a very small amount of product, it does seem to last a while. — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

Well it doesn't feel Greasy & cheaper than Eminence
So I give it a little higher than I like because my girls both have a brush of their own. They hate the greasy feeling of the lotion though I force them to wear both, but they love the powder. It feels like makeup and is so much easier to apply. This was on sale at my spa, so I bought like 4 of them. I use this as a back up, but the bristles on the brush and pretty ruff. Though for only $30 a pop as opposed to Eminence, which I lOVE at over $50, I would say for kids, it's better to go with PTR. It does last a while and is good in sealing in makeup or or bb creams. If you have a hard time getting kids to use Sublock, this is a great alternative than always having to constantly nag them and make sure they protect their skin. I do have to say that it works great on your hands. I tried using it on my decolletage, but I felt itchy and rash like after trying it several times. — 6 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 4 people said helpful

Can destroy your handbag
I have this in 2 formulas (Oily and this one) I use a lotion under makeup and apply this as needed. great concept but the packaging could be better my brushes shed on my face and the back end of tube opened up in my makeup case and spilled everywhere. I will continue to use, But would like to see better brush and package. Would have given 10stars but the packaging really needs works. — 2 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Very convenient
This is a great idea for easy sunscreen application. I didn't have any difficulties with the brush dispensing too little or too much product like I had with other similar containers. Note, if your skin is on the dry side, you will need to use a good moisturizer. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Not For Dark Skin
I know that this item gets rave reviews, but it's just not that great...not for me at least. I have a darker skin tone...and this definitely leaves a white film over my face. I tried to use it under makeup or over makeup, on fresh skin, always left the same residue which made my face look like i used a foundation that was too light for my skin. I had friends wiping my face upon seeing me...even after I wiped it. Also, the application definitely wasn't even. I think this is a great concept but a very messy idea that didn't work out for me at all. Fail from me. 3 stars for those that love it. Not worth my money. — 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Safety Net: Peter Thomas Roth's Instant Mineral SPF 30
I have recently become a shade worshiper as a result of family members developing skin cancer, and I have four faves in my sunscreen arsenal -- Peter Thomas Roth's being one of the four. This one travels in my handbag at all times. I never leave home without it. Instead of applying a creamy sunscreen over makeup after leaving the house for the day, I reach in my handbag, grab the PTR Instant Mineral SPF 30, dust it on my face, and I am once again protected from the sun. It is sheer enough that it doesn't cake up, settle in fine lines, or add any color to the skin. For me, it truly is a safety net because I wouldn't apply a goopy type of sunscreen. — 5 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Easiest sunscreen in the world!
I’m the friend that everyone tells to shut-up because I am so passionate about sunscreen. I cannot emphasize how important it is to wear SPF daily. Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30 is sheer PERFECTION! You can wear it alone, or even use it to set your make-up. It’s translucent matte finish also helps control shine throughout the day. And since you need to reapply your sunscreen during the day anyway, I can’t think of any easier way than when I pull this out of my purse and just dust it on all over my face. This is actually with me in my handbag, EVERY SINGLE DAY. — 4 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Did not work for me.
I don't like wearing sunscreens but this mineral powder sounded very easy to appy. I bought one, tried and did not like it at all. First of all, it is so drying, the brush itself is scratching my skin. I never understand how much I need to put on my face because sometimes the applicator lets me use a tiny amount, the other time it is too much product that it is everywhere, sink, my clothes... I decided to give it another try, got the powder out of the applicator and put it in one of my used mineral powder box. I was so suprised to see that the product was very very tiny. I gave it a try with my favorite brush but I did not like the feeling of it on my chest or my neck. I ended up throwing it to the garbage. The idea of mineral sunscreen is great but in real life, it is not practical at all. I like PTR products for sure but this one won't be on my list for sure. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

i love this sunscreen! i took it on vacation and used it on my part to avoid sunburn on my head (better than greasy oil in my hair). its also nice for setting makeup. its so easy and quick! and feels so much better than a thick cream when you're out in the heat! — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
