I like it better than SB brand. It's like a light lotion which to me is better than a serum. Less slippage of makeup. There may be a cheaper brand that works better so I'll keep shopping. I am a big fan of Laura Mercier products. I received a deluxe sample of this in a gift with purchase. I used this once and haven't used it since. This isn't to say it is a bad product just unremarkable. Try Oil-Free
Since I am satisfied with Laura Mercier Foundation Oil Free Primer, I bought their regular version for my mom who has dry skin. To compare the two products, I tried this a few times. The staying power of my foundation (worked for both liquid and powder) is definitely prolonged. But there is a certain difference in the consistency. This primer feels heavier and stickier. My mom also thinks that it is a bit sticky. Got Horrible Reaction!!!!
I was looking for a primer & decided on this so I went to test it out at Sephora. I'm used to creamy thicker primers unlike this which is very thin & light like a light whipped lotion or serum. I feel that lighter products should be applied on the face first so I wasn't sure if this will work over a lotion sunblock. I tested this on my hand in several areas & had some redness there as I wiped them off to test out other products. Well, I had a blob of this primer on the center of the back of my left hand that I was using with different sunblocks & foundation. After a while the back of my left hand had a burning sensation, became very itchy & as I washed my hands with soap the entire back of my hand was bright red & extremely itchy. After several minutes & several more washings the redness disappeared. I'm just glad I did not test this on my face. Not for me
I really like the Laura Mercier line but I was not pleased with this particular product. The texture was okay and the application was smooth. It just didn't work with my oily skin type and felt rather "heavy". Not Impressed

I got this from a friend, and I must say I was disappointed. I've heard great things about Laura Mercier but I thought this product was lacking. I thought the fragrance was a bit too strong and the formula was too heavy. I love the smell, the feel and the results from this product. It made my skin feel so silky and I would recommend it to anyone who has never bought laura mercier. I bought the "regular" primer and probably need the Oil Free one. It is a little sticky and I truly didn't notice much of a difference in the staying power in my foundation.
