If this is the new formula of the older, amazing, great smelling shampoo then my heart is going to break. First off I'm not saying it's awful, it does the job, I don't have any issues with it's performance, but I mean... I like a scent to last, and is it too much to ask that the shampoo smells good straight from the bottle? Why change the old scent, I just can't understand it. Average at best
I always use shampoo and conditioner from the same line and the same brand. When I stayed at a relative's house for a week recently, I had to use this shampoo, but the conditioner was from another brand (why did I not pack my own?! Grrr...) .The bottle said L'Oreal-Vive Pro Smooth Intense Shampoo for Dry, Frizzy, or Rebellious Hair with Medium Texture. Yes, dry, frizzy, or rebellious hair, that's what I have with coarse texture! The color of the shampoo was clear orange, and unlike my expectation, it did not smell fruity, rather soapey. It did not do much to my hair, except cleaning. It was not very moisturizing. My hair was still frizzy and dry. Great for long, straight hair

Pro Smooth or Pro FRIZZ?
I have what's called combination hair - it gets oily at the roots, but dry at the ends. I can't use products for oily hair because they are too drying, but I can sometimes get away with moisturizing products for dry/damaged hair without my hair getting weighed down or extra oily. I purchased the Vive Pro Smooth Shampoo, along with its companion conditioner, about 2 years ago. I used it for awhile, but found that it was not doing what it claimed. This shampoo cleanses well - I'll give it that. My hair was always very clean after using it. However, it did absolutely nothing for the frizz and dryness even though it is supposed to be for "Dry, Rebellious Hair". I would think that a "smoothing" line would be moisturizing in order to combat frizz and dryness, but this is not the case with the Vive Pro Smooth products. I noticed that my hair looked frizzier and felt drier after using this shampoo. Granted, I preferred to use only shampoo at the time (condtioner was a once in a while thing), but when I actually DID use the conditioner, which didn't do jack for my hair, the results were the same: dry, frizzy, and tangled. I'll give the shampoo a couple stars for great cleansing, as it would probably be fine for someone who doesn't have as much of a problem with frizz as I do. Won't even use the bottle I bought!
I'm very dissatisfied! This stuff by L'Oreal just won't lather up. So suds = greasy hair for me. Love this shampoo!
This shampoo is A+ - esp for my course and straight hair which tends to be flat after shampooing/conditioning. Loreal shampoo does not leave my hair dry but bouncy and healthy. Great for dry/frizzy, colored hair!
I just started using this shampoo w/the Smooth Intense conditioner and I really like it. I've tried other Vive shampoos and conditioners and didn't like any of them as much as the Smooth Intense line. My hair is chin length, straight, colored & highlighted, and heat processed. This shampoo helps keep my hair smooth, shiny and soft without being weighed down.
