The color I used faded very quickly. I prefer L'Oreal Excellence, not L'Oreal Preference which tends to be on the orangey side for blonde hair. — 1 year, 3 months ago

never go cheap!

When you use a hair color you shouldn't skimp on money, that was always a common law with my mother... but did I listen?? NO. Serves me right, I bought this in black, and died my hair with it. I put the color all over and made sure it was even and didn't leave any strands uncovered. But when I washed the color out my hair was so patchy, the black worked well but I looked like a skunk! I'll never use this again, it was such a waste and left my normally perfect hair texture a mess. What's worse is the week after a good two inches of my hair (the tips thank god!) turned green. Don't skimp and buy this, it's the worst experience I've ever had and I still have night mares about it. — 2 years, 6 months ago

Brown Black

This is the only dye I can find that makes a brown black color worthy of an excellent rating. The color was perfect for my very brunette (but not black) Italian haircolor. It was shiny, permanent, natural, and moisture rich. It lasted 8 months and didn't fade at all! It covered gray and only required a touch up after the roots showed themselves. Shade "Dark Brown"

This turned my dark brown hair into a very deep brown black, it looked black. The reddish tone of dyed hair was very minimal. Even though this is permanent color it faded completely after 8+ weeks. This also did not thicken my hair like most other hair dyes. Great product & value at around $3.00 a box. — 3 years ago

Covers gray with good color

I can't complain about the color at all. I'm 28 and I'm 50% gray on top already thanks to the genes on both sides of my family. This dye is my go to since I have to dye so often and I'm on a beauty budget. I dye about every 3 weeks and I have to say that this product is absolutely dependable. I would give it a 10 if it came with a better and bigger conditioner. I'm truly impressed with Revlon ColorSilk. I've been highlighting my hair for a few years and I finally got tired of spending so much money and not being happy with the results. I decided to let my hair grow out it's natural color (ashy blonde) which completely washed my complexion out. After mustering up the courage, I bought ColorSilk in #04 Ultra Light Natural Blonde and I LOVE IT. It's a little on the bright side right now, but I can live with it. No ashy tones which is great and at $3.00 a box, you can't loose! Funny thing is when I was going to the salon, paying $250.00 for highlights and haircut, I was never "really" happy with the results, paying $3.00 for a box of hair color, I'm really happy with the results! My hair feels silky, strong and wonderful, no nasty smell to it either! Did you know that Revlon doesn't test it's products on animals....I'll be using this again for sure! — 2 years, 9 months ago
