I color my hair about every six weeks and do it mostly to cover gray. If a new product comes out, I will try it and keep going back to Colorsilk. It is really the only one that gives me lasting color and wonderful body and shine. The colors are true and I get a lot of compliments! Looks very natural if you aren't too careful about putting it on -- I do NOT try to hit every strand because who really has only one color in their hair!!! The only one I liked better, but they have stopped marketing it, was their HIGH DIMENSION -- which cost more but was even better. But this is a keeper. December 11, 2007, 7:56 am

This has a price you can't refuse so why not try it? I'm glad I did. For about three to five dollars, this box delivered the same quality hair dye that even the expensive ones deliver but the catch? It drips. You'd have to surround floors and surfaces with protective barriers like newspapers or plastic, anything that will keep things from staining because this one is so much more fluid than cream that it will splat anywhere and everywhere and drip from your locks. The conditioner is in a baggie instead of a tube which I wish was contained in a tube because that would mean more uses out of it and no leakage but regardless, the conditioner only provided me one use for my long hair anyway. I found that if this gets on skin that it will stain more than any other hair dye I've gotten on me and far more difficult to remove so be very careful! It didn't leave my hair feeling damaged like other certain hair dyes have in the past but that doesn't mean this doesn't do any damage at all because all dyes and any chemical treatment will do so to hair no matter what. But after washing off the dye and conditioning, I like that my hair felt soft and could be easily styled because it wasn't so dried out that it would frizz up and basically be hard to manage. I have used expensive permanent hair color brands in the past. I was short on cash on a shopping expedition and this one caught my eye. It is wonderful! Lots of lusture. Lots of shine. Color last a lot longer than I expected for what I paid for it. And, WalMart sells two boxed for the price of one most of the time! This also leaves my hair very soft, which is hard to find in any permanent hair color. I dye my hair black, which is also tough to manage at times. Highly recommend this product. Save some money and get better benefits than other more expensive brands on the market today. December 7, 2007, 11:56 am

I dye my naturally black hair a softer red/brown. The color looks great with my complexion and leaves highlights in my hair so that it's not one flat color. I love this because it's cheap, it doesn't fry my hair and it takes a long time to wash out. I also love the way my hair feels after it's dyed with colorsilk. My hair really does feel like silk. The only downfall is the strong smell and if you don't wash your hair infront of you the dye can cause you skin to break out (acne wise I mean)

I have been using Revlon ColorSilk for about a year now and love this product. I use the auburn shades which are very natural looking. It is easy to apply and touch-ups are a breeze. ColorSilk does not smell like some of the pricier ammonia-based products and seems to be gentler on my hair. The conditioner that comes with it is really good also. It's hard to believe Colorsilk sells for $4.00 or less. I hope they never stop making it! May 29, 2008, 10:46 am

I have to color my roots every month. Keep in mind, I am only using my natural hair color, so I don't konw how well it works to change a color, but I have gray hair on my part line, so every month I color with med auburn, and it covers the gray. It fades after about a month, but it costs only $2.97 a box, and it is very conditioning so it doesn't damage my hair. Definately worth it for the price June 1, 2008, 6:48 pm

very inexpensive, especially if you have a cupon you can get it for like 3 dollars at most drug stores. the producy contains no ammonia and is gentle on the hair. it does leave the hair silkier and shinier.the after color conditioner smells very good. the color lasts and is better in my opinion than the more expensive brands. great for people who want to look good on a low bugdet. i have used this product for many years. Revlon Colorsilk is one of the least expensive hair colors I have used, but it is one of the ones I would definitely recommend. It colors evenly, doesn't knock you down with a strong smell, and holds it's color moderately well. The red shades tend to fade a bit more quickly than some of the others, but I have found that to be normal with most hair colors. I don't use this brand every single time, but I have and will continue to purchase Revlon Colorsilk. April 25, 2008, 8:26 am
