Clinique Touch Base for Eyes Reviews

Clinique Has a Hit with This!
Before eye shadow primers became popular, I used Clinique's "Touch Base" to keep shadows intact. But I also LOVE the fact that it can be worn alone as a subtle but flattering shadow (available in shades of "Buff," "Canvas," and "Uplighting," a taupe). I wish Clinique hadn't deleted some of the shades which were once available--I had them all. "Petal Shimmer" was a becoming, tender pink hue. Two cautions here: 1) When applying, use a brush or your ring finger, as it is your weakest and the least likely one to cause damage to the very delicate tissue here; and 2) Be sure to close the lid tightly. Once this product is dry, it is unusable. — 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Un-necessary
Don't need. Just do not need primers. Just put a little concealer on to brighten and give base for shadows. If use highly pigmented eye shadow, like Urban Decay, Too Faced, Maybelline and Revlon the shadows will stay put. Blend it well, and they will stay. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 7 people said helpful

Make my eye makeup last longer
I like their neutral nude colors. This base makes my eye shadow more vivid, and it also helps to stay longer but easy to take it off. It comes with very small compact, but all I need is a small amount. It is very creamy and a bit oily, thus, if you have extremely oily skin, you may want to consult first. — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

okay
If I do not use moisturizer under this product it makes my lids look scaly. It is reasonably priced, comes in great universal colors, adds longevity to shadow, and does not irritate sensitive skin. It does dry out fast. It is okay--but not something I would buy again. — 3 years, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

I wouldn't waste my money!
Yes this is a great product but application causes you to tug on eye lids, product dries out in the container too quickly and is too dry feeling. — 5 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Doesn't Settle in Fine Lines.
I used Touch Base about a year ago. When I used it, I loved that it kept my eyeshadow in place without settling in the fine lines on my eyelid. Being a bit of a minimalist, I have tried to own multi-purpose products, so when I ran out, I started using a concealer on my eyelids, which serves the same purpose (Cle de Peau Beaute). As far as price, Touch Base is less expensive than Cle de Peau Beaute. I never tried it, but maybe Touch Base could be used as a concealer, too. Hmmm. — 4 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Underwhelmed
This was the first eyeshadow primer that I ever bought. I usually like clinique products so this was very disappointing. I liked that you can choose the color of it and wear it on its own as a highlighter, but it didn't work well for me at all as a primer. I think it actually made my greasy eyelids even greasier and the eyeshadow creased like crazy and didn't stay put. If you don't want to spend lots of money on a great primer like Too Faced or Urban Decay, I would suggest just using a really good foundation for oily skin under shadow. — 5 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful

The best primer
I've tried a lot of drugstore primers but for the money, this is hands down the best. Blends in beautifully and STAYS PUT! Creates best base for eyeshadows to last for hours. I love it! — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

helps shadows stay true to their color
this was my first eyeshadow base, so I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I definitely think that this is a great eyeshadow base. Before, I didn't use anything underneath my shadows, and noticed that they would start to crease and lose their color throughout the day. So, I bought a eyeshadow based and noticed a huge difference. Now, the colors go on (and stay on) true to their color. No creasing! — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
