I have used brushes to apply my foundation ever since a Clinique consultant used one on me at the mall. I like to dampen the brush before putting the makeup on it because it gives me a nice, dewy wash of coverage. Spendy but worth it!
For some brushes, I use the cheap variety (elf eyeshadow brush, ecotools eyeliner brush) and think they work just as well as the more expensive version. But for a foundation brush, it's better to get a nice one, and Clinique's is great. I used to use makeup sponges until I got a makeover at the Clinque counter. Great Makeup Brush- Not the easiest to clean!
I was first introduced to the Clinique Foundation brush while working for the line. I have used many foundation brushes before, but never had the opportunity to use one from Clinique.
My first impression of the brush was that the bristles were very soft and the brush handle was easy to grip. Upon first using it to apply foundation I noticed that it did a great job of evenly applying...read more foundation. It was great for demoing the importance of a foundation brush to customers and showing how you can get more of an even coverage with one.
The brush itself is really thick. One of the thicker foundation brushes I have used which I enjoy since I feel like I can be a little rough with the brush without worrying about bristles falling out. The brush really helps you control whether you want a light coverage of foundation or more of a full coverage look.
Upon cleaning my first Clinique foundation brush I noticed that since the brush was thicker a lot of product sunk between the bristles which made cleaning it more difficult than any of my other foundation brushes. I used a combination of warm water and brush cleaner but found that it wasn't enough to get my brushes squeaky clean. I ended up having to use make up remover to insure all of the foundation had been removed from my brush. It took me a good 20 minutes to clean and I had only gone a week without a wash. I feel like my other brushes don't take as long to clean.
The price for this foundation brush retails for $33. I have had my brush for a year now and have kept up on regular cleanings. I have not had any bristles fall out which is always a sign of a good quality brush. While the price tag may be steep for some I feel like it it a good investment piece. If spending time on cleaning brushes isn't in the cards for you I would suggest purchasing a foundation brush from a different line seeing as this one is a little time consuming with cleaning.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

My go-to foundation brush
I've only used a few different brushes for foundation, because I used sponges to apply it for a long time. This was part of a birthday gift I received from a friend, and it is definitely my favorite! Beautiful Brush
