Good Basic Eye Primer/Blemish Concealer

Years ago I used Ultima II's "Fade Not Crease Not" and L'Oreal's "De-Crease" to keep shadow in place. This was before all the talk was about UD's "Primer Potion" and Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance." Now there isn't a primer I haven't tried, and I still like L'Oreal's version. It is not transparent but comes in a flesh-toned shade. That works well for me, as it immediately covers some small blue...read more veins on my lids. It can be a tad thick, but when spread evenly, it holds any type of shadow in place for ten hours at the least and eighteen hours at the most. It doesn't crease on me and makes me happy. I also use it on blemishes. I never touch the doe-foot applicator to a blemish for fear of contamination but use a Q-tip. Once it sets, I use concealer on top and my problem remains disguised until I cleanse my face.

Not Any Good...

Don't waste your money on the L'Oreal De-Crease Eye Shadow Primer. It actually does crease on your eyelids, takes for ever to dry, and really doesn't help my eye makeup stay on any longer. I believe that everyone should use a good eye primer to help keep your shadow on and it keep the colors vibrant! Just pick a different one. You don't want a primer that creases because then your shadow will crease as well and that is definitely not a good look! =)

It's okay...

This is my first eyeshadow primer so I really don't have anything to compare it to. I agree with some of the other reviewers. It did make my eyeshadow more intense, but ironically, the decreaser can crease! That's before the shadow is even on. I just reblend it and add some powder to set, then apply my eyeshadow. It's not bad though. When I couple it with a higher end shadow, I can usually get thr...read moreough the day without creases, but with a lower end brand, Cover Girl in particular, I almost always crease halfway through the day. I also think its a bit pricey. I believe I paid around $10 at Walmart for not much product. I'm going to try to find one that works better and costs less. Wish me luck!

Not good at all

I was trying out different eye primers and this one I liked the least. It was very chalky, made eyeshadows lighter than what they were, and creased alot!!! Will not buy this again!!!

pretty good

I always use a eyeshadow primer to intensify the color of my powder eyeshadow. This makes more of my powder eyeshadow stick to my lids and it lasts all day. I've been using this everyday now, and I'm on my second tube. I'm disappointed on how long the first tube lasted because it is so difficult to get the product out, especially after the initial week when too much product was coming out. The for...read moremula is thick that the wand going straight in doesn't seem to touch the creme after a while. They should've packaged it in a pot where I can use it until the last bit.

Good enough for me!

This is probably not the best eyeshadow base out there, but it still works. It makes my eyeshadows last significantly longer than if I don't use any base or primer at all. The consistency is a bit thick, so you should wait a minute or so for it to set before putting on your eye makeup.

Not worth it

I have used several high-end primers and this was recommended by a friend because of the price. It didn't work for me. My eyeshadows would settle into weird lines on my eyes. The product wasn't very smooth going onto the eye.

Nothing to write home about

This did make a nice base for my shadow and the light yellowish tint helped cover my dark circles. But did it prevent creasing? Not really, my eyeshadow still creased and fell into the small crease right below my eyes (zombie much?). It may have made it last longer before it creased but I didn't notice much of a difference. I may buy it again, but I'll probably try something else.

Doesn't last Long, But Works...

At first using this, I wasn't happy with the results. My eye makeup still smeared toward the crease leaving the build up of eyeliner and shadow there. I finally was able to use this right after putting less makeup for my eyes and letting the base set in before applying my usual regime. Not bad, but took a bit of my time finding the right amount of eye makeup to apply...

Rivals higher end bases

This is a great drugstore option for eyeshadow bases. It blends well and keep even the brightest shadows on and crease free for the entire day or night. Good buy.
