Garnier HerbaShine Color Creme Reviews

Yikes
I use a single box of liquid dye no problem.. But a Creme not so much. I rubbed my hair into the wet area and hoped that my hair would come out somewhat even. It got the scary smelling fumes compared to other brands but it worked pretty good. If I would have bought 2 boxes I am sure the experience would have been better. Over all I won't use again. I know its not expensive but I like other brands that are even cheaper.. and why waste my money. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Does the Job... All Right
I actually used this hair dye recently and I chose the wrong color for me as I didn't feel like reddish dyes suit me but the nature it left my hair in left it parched. After blow drying my hair like I usually do, I noticed my ends more wispier than usual and with a dime size amount of serum, it was back to appearing healthy again. What I disliked about it was that it left my hair damaged more than the other brands or types of hair dyes I've used. This even damaged my hair more than Revlon's budget hair dye Color Silk. I actually like Color Silk. For about seven dollars, I could find better hair dyes out there that deliver a better health outcome for my hair and color that shines. I felt this color dulled quite easily and with just a few shampoos, it's pretty much stripped of its own color halfway. The next time I'm in the dye section, I'll leave it up to another brand to satisfy my need for ravishing color. For details about the texture, it's about similar to a lotion but not quite as thick as a cream and one box can usually cover about shoulder length's hair. I've found myself needing two boxes since my hair at the time of posting here is about just a couple of inches above my waist at the longest layers in the back. The scent still smells like regular hair dye although there are claims of formulation with a scent, it didn't do much to ease breathing just as any hair dye would. The conditioner is in a packet which I disliked because I often don't use all the conditioner and perhaps this was intended for just one use but most conditioners I've found in boxes have been in multiple use tubes and I can get about two to three conditionings from it and also be able to seal it back up. For those of you who are choosy about gloves, the latex gloves in the dye box are sturdy and it helps not to have your hands dyed or exposed to any chemicals. Some dyes do just come with plastic, cellophane like gloves and those I find are uncomfortable and not formfitting to use. Anyone allergic to latex may want to skip using the gloves or purchase their own gloves or even skip this box of dye all together since the quality isn't at the best level there should be offered for hair dye. A competitive similar hair dye on the market is definitely outperforming this right now which is at almost the exact same price. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 10 people said helpful

Works Well
If you must use a box dye, go with this one. It works well & the price is reasonable however, it isn't that long lasting. It does leave hair feeling a lot better than any other box dye out there & the colors turn out very well; especially reds & blacks. I still stick to my philosophy on hair dying though: If you want something dramatic, find a good colorist! I can't tell you how many people try to do something dramatic with drugstore dye & it turns out all wrong. As a hair colorist, believe me when I tell you that it takes a lot of time and effort (and $$$) to fix botched home-dye jobs & sometimes, even the best colorist can't make it 100% right after a bad home job. If you're still feeling brave, at least opt to go to an actual beauty supply store & purchase dye there. It's usually cheaper ( if it is more expensive, it's usually just a few bucks more) but it's the same stuff products used at a salon so the finished product will look & last much better. Also, people working there are usually happy to give you free advice on what you need & what to use for your hair type to get a certain look. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

In love
I had never dyed my hair and I was a little scared but I bought this product and its easy to use, comes with an amazing avocado treatment and it leaves my hair soft and shiny. I've been using it religiously since I first bought it almost a year ago. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 7 people said helpful

Love it!!
I just recently used this product to color my hair and it was my first time trying it. It gave me a fabulous color that really did look like the color on the box AND my hair felt really healthy and soft afterwards. I've tried a few at-home coloring kits before and this one definitely takes the cake for me. It doesn't have that harsh, disgusting smell that most at-home coloring systems have so that right there was a huge plus for me. The conditioner that they provide for afterwards smells great and really worked wonders on my hair!! Since you don't need a lot of the conditioner, it can last about a month which is pretty awesome. At $7.49, I will definitely purchase this again!!! — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 10 people said helpful

Garnier Hair Color
This is my favor brand of hair color, which is ironic, since I hate everything else Garnier I've tried. I've stopped dyeing my hair, but if I ever do it again, I'm going back to this. It smells much nicer than anything else, and does a good job; I've dyed my hair countless times in the past, and my favorite and most recent color I've done was their Raspberry Truffle color, which was very dark, but has lightened up nicely, and complements my natural hair growth quite nicely. I'm definitely a fan of the mahogany shades. :) — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Didn't work?
I don't think this even changed my hair color. I have medium brown hair, used Dark Ash Blonde, and my hair maybe got a tiny bit lighter? Revlon Colorsilk is so much better. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful
