Risk Taking? Here It Is, Try It
Herbal Essences have stunning shades that seem to radiate from the photos but what is difficult for me personally is coloring over dark brown hair and actually ending up with a result even similar as portrayed. The reds come out nicely as a highlight when the sun rays hit my hair and it reflects color and it does the same with golden colors but I'm afraid I'd have to give a thumbs down to certain colors as I've found some delivered better results than others and others hardly at all. If you're dark brown or black haired, the blondes and light auburn shades would almost be impossible to reach unless you've went over it with the same dye a couple more times to lighten it or bleached it first but it damages hair to be colored and recolored all in sessions crammed together. The golden brown color comes out dark on me but a couple weeks later and shampoos, it becomes closer of a shade to the picture on the box but never exactly. I ended up having three shades darker than the preferred result but all together it was still worth the try since some dyes hardly even tint my hair and the colors shimmer instead of being flat and dull. — 5 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 16 people said helpful

Don't use box color!
O.K. your spending your money to LOOK GOOD! I & anyone else with eyes can spot a box job a mile away. Itchy scalp

THE best hair color ever
I've tried many different brands but this is the BEST hair color I've ever used. I use the darkest brown to cover my gray roots. The color doesn't fade, it's rich and vibrant and my hair is super shiny. Amazing hair dye! Love it!
I have dyed my hair all sorts of colors since I was 12 years old (I am now 21). I started using red dyes about 5 years ago and tried all sorts of different brands. Before using this dye, my hair was really damaged, had no texture, and no shine. The red dyes I had used before from Redken, Garnier, Loreal, and Nice and Easy would look good for a week and then fade to a light, nasty and brassy blonde color. I was dying my hair every 2 weeks to keep it looking nice and it was so damaged! 5 months ago, I got sick of wasting the time dying my hair and decided to try a different brand again to see if it lasted longer. I bought this brand in Paint the Town Red. It came out just like the box, which was the first time I had ever had a red or any other dye come out like that! After my first use of the dye and conditioner, my hair was so amazingly soft and shiny. My bf couldn't believe the difference. It didn't tangle my hair when I tried to rinse it out like other dyes have. And the most amazing part.. after 1 1/2 months without re-dying, it is still the same color and just as vibrant and beautiful as when I first dyed it! No fade at all!
