Sally Hansen Hair Remover Wax Strip Kit for Body Reviews

1-2-3 hair free! (With help of tweezer and razor after!)
This kit comes with two sizes of pre-made wax strips that need to be warmed between hands first, and then separated so that the double-sided strips become two individual strips. Lastly, each strip is used in the desired area. Generally, I used the larger strips on the bigger areas such as my legs and the smaller strips on my arms and armpit area. For me, the results on my armpits were terrible, and since the hair on my arm does not really bother me at all, I’ve never tried it on my arms before. The results are meant to last up to 8 weeks, but it does not last that long. The reason is due to the fact that it removes most of the hair from my lower legs but almost always leaves a few stray hair remaining. After using the post-treatment soothing azulene that is included, it removes traces of excess wax but at the same time it makes the skin too oily to allow the remaining hair to be tweezed. It's also recommended that the hair can't be shaved afterwards. In addition, hair needs to be one-fourth inch or twenty-one days of growth for maximum effectiveness, as well as the fact that skin must be dry and free of oil and water. It's really hard to get optimal hairless results with waxing and the wait time in between each session is really long. I think these wax strips are great for the wintertime when stray hair don't really matter. Over the long run, thinner and less hair is noticeable. However, short-term results are not the most optimal. The instructions are helpful but it takes a while to get the hang out it and first time waxing can get quite painful. Be sure to exfoliate the skin before waxing and even more importantly after so that ingrown hair does not become a problem. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Strips aren't strong enough
I have average to thin hair on my legs and bikini. Even for me, the wax on these strips was simply not strong enough to remove the hair. They only pick up about 25-30% of the hair and then going over the area again becomes difficult. I found it was best to cut the strips in half or thirds and do small areas at a time. This was much more successful, but then took forever! — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

easy, fast, wonderful
The best way to use this is to cut it into very small strips. If you use a large strip, it don't seem to grab all the hairs. The small strips work great on facial hair as well, just press hard and warm strip with fingers before yanking off. It's especially great for baby fine hair. It could leave a couple thick short ones behind, which I just tweeze. Do little sections at a time and you'll have perfect results. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Useless
I bought these thinking it would be a quick and easy hair removal. These do not work and the strips don't wax anything! — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Leave it to the pros
Not really that great for finer hairs. Removed most of it, but left little hairs here and there that needed ANOTHER strip to clean up. A lot of wax sticks to your skin too if you don't pull fast and hard enough. Best leave waxing to the pros! — 5 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

OK for a no heat wax.
These strips should be used on clean, dry skin. It also helps to lightly dust the hairs with baby powder or corn starch and to make sure you rub the strips so that they warm up before applying.. That being said I found them to be quite harsh on my skin (well at least more than a regular hot wax) and more likely to leave a red mark behind. The pluses are they are quite convenient and can be used very quickly. I usually keep some form of wax strips for times that I notice a patch of hair that may have been missed during a hot wax or if a random patch of hair grows faster than the rest. It is nice to be able to zap it within seconds without microwaving anything. These are pre-cut but you'll probably have to trim them down some more because the long strips aren't very effective. I do like the finishing oil, but I've used regular olive oil for the same result. Overall I'd recommend dealing with the mess and hassle of a hot wax over these strips. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Works OK
Get off a majority of the hair, but it leaves some behind. The azulene finishing oil makes me get pimples, but it's all you can use to rid your skin of the excess wax left on it. Of course it hurts, and it's no where near a perfect job...but hey, what can you expect? Just be super careful if you use it on your face and wash the oil off thoroughly. — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Good, but not great
I tried these because I was too cheap to go get a professional job. From now on, I'll stick to the salon. Heating up the strips between my hands was a hassle, especially with the bigger ones because they never warmed up enough. Then, once pulled apart, whichever of the two strips I used second would re-harden in the time it took me to use the first one. They never grabbed all of the hair, and were just generally more trouble than they are worth. I will be sticking to my razor or Nair when I want to do the job myself at home. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Only adequate
I am very furry, so it did nothing for my legs. If you aren't too hairy, it should work for you. It does work well on the arms - doesn't remove all of the hair, but on the arms you don't notice it as month. It is easy to use and doesn't make a mess, which is a plus with DIY hair removal. And the price sure beats a salon wax job.. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Awful
I consider myself an expert in beauty products but I just couldn't get this product right. I warmed this up with my hands for about 30 seconds and even after reading all directions multiple times before use, this didn't pull no more than 2 strands of small hair. Truly a waste of money, I think I'll stick to shaving or the painful waxing. — 4 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
