Sally Hansen French Manicure Nail Guides Reviews

Garbage
The whole kit is a junky waste of money. The strips don't apply to nails evenly and keep coming off, and the polish is of low quality and barely adheres to the nail, with a really cruddy brush to apply it.There is nothing good about this. Not a Fan
Not very good, little difficult to use, don't last long. Rather buy press on nails or go get nails painted. — 6 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not bad.
When I was first learning to do french manis, I bought these to make things a little easier. If I applied them while my basecoat was still slightly wet, it would lift the basecoat. Rarely, the polish would seep under the manicure guide, but generally it wasn't too bad. I thought these were pretty decent, although now I've learned to paint on tips freehand. I would consider repurchasing these if I still struggled with my at home french mani though, especially since they're fairly inexpensive. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Oh... My... GOD
This is probably the worse product by S.H. since the bees wax kit what ever thing... where to start? First the color polish looks awful, even by itself. Second, the white for the tips is from a horror movie, it bubbles, doesn't go on smooth at all and is way to thick. Also those tapes? Too long for nails and the white leaks under them, and the tape can take off some of the polish. It has to sit for way too long and even after you get what you THINK is a decent enough work done, it peels off, and the top coat makes it look AWFUl. The people at Sally Hansen must be pulling a prank on us or something. — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

not good
the sticker guides that come with this were somewhat useful, but they fell off way too easily. it would have been easier to hand draw the white line on my french manicure myself. very disappointed. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Use with white polish pen on bare nails for best results
I've never had good luck with this type of guide strip for French tips until I changed my approach to giving myself a French manicure. What works perfectly for me is to apply these strips to BARE nails, burnish them down with a fingernail so the strips stay firmly attached until I'm ready to remove them (and so that no polish seeps under the edges, especially at the sides), and then apply two coats of white nail polish using a felt-tip nail polish pen with white polish designed specifically for French manicures (I've also reviewed Sally Hansen's version of these pens). Apply both coats thinly and evenly. The tricks to getting a thin, even application are 1) to shake the polish pen VIGOROUSLY for about 10-15 seconds and then press the tip down FIRMLY against a folded piece of scrap paper (or a scrap of thin, hard cardboard) on a flat, hard surface such as a table, pressing hard enough for the ENTIRE FELT TIP to retract into the pen and maintaining the pressure for the full 30 seconds. Then draw a short line of polish on the paper to get rid of any excess polish. These tips will make all the difference, I promise! Allow the first coat of white polish to dry completely before applying the second coat, and allow the second coat to dry completely before removing the paper guide strips. Then apply two coats of very sheer pink or peach polish made specifically for French manicures, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly after it has been applied. When the second coat has dried completely, apply a thin, even coat of Seche Vite, dry it thoroughly, and enjoy your new fabulous-looking French manicure! — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Maybe I didn't wait long enough for my polish to dry, but I tried these a couple of times, and both times my polish smeared into the white area. I'll stick with professional manis for the french manicure look — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

It's More Like A Nail Polish Leaking Dam
These french manicure guides sure know how to make a woman blow steam as you stick these adhesive strip guides on and find that your nail polish somehow will soak through the guide or the guides won't adhere well enough to the nail to ensure a precise detailed line. My perfect solution? Bandages. No joke, bandages that are the standard size and are rounded at the edges which mimick the perfect curve to the edge of the nail yet they stick well enough to allow a barrier for the polish and you'll get better french manicures out of that than these guides. I've found better guides out in the store far better than these so save your energy and some money and my suggestion is to choose something else! — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 12 people said helpful

What a waste!
I bought these thinking it would be the best alternative to a salon manicure. Little did i know it was going to be a waste of my time and money! The nail polished seeped under the tape, If you dont let them dry long enought it will lift the polish from the ends. It was not user friendly at all. The idea of it seems good, but when you actually use them, it falls way below my expectations. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
