Sometimes worked, but most times did not work...

I purchased the Murad acne kit after highly recommended by a friend who also suffers from adult acne. It might work for my friend's skin, but for my skin it did not stop from having breakouts. It seemed to work better in the beginning, and healed some of the existing reddish pimples, but at the same time this gel dried out my skin (I have oily/combination skin). Thus, I did not use it for my entire face from the second time around, and I used it as a spot gel. Nevertheless, a few days later I still got new pimples. Just like many acne treatment gel, this one gave an itchy feeling. About the effectiveness, I think this gel is almost as effective as a $7 grocery store brand acne treatment/clearing gel. — 1 year, 7 months ago

I tried the Murad anti-acne line after another line (Theraputix - I'd give them a very LOW rating if I could find them here) made my face break out worse than ever with awful cystic acne the likes of which I'd never had before. This product stings a little at first, but it really clears out your pores, and it has retinol, which treats the fine lines on my forehead as a bonus. You definitely need to use the skin perfecting cream afterwards, to moisturize and soothe your skin, but altogether, this line is a keeper. I saw results after two weeks, and the rebound acne was light and quickly dissapated. I am very happy with the Murad line — 4 years ago

drying, but works

I only use this gel once a day because it's too harsh to use more than that. I like it though, because it really helps prevent breakouts all over my face. Using it once a day (and with the moisturizer) is enough for it be effective without drying my skin out. My only other complaint: the smell. ugh. But it's worth it :) — 3 years, 6 months ago

Too harsh

Don't bother wasting your money

I have used every type of acne medication known to man...and probably some you've never heard of. I was not impressed with the Murad collection. It did nothing but dry out my skin the point of pain. To boot, when I asked an online representative what I should do, they told me that it's not meant for sensative skin, which I took to mean "SOL." Again, not worth the hefty price tag. Do yourself a favor and go pick up some 2.5% benzyl peroxide and jojoba oil. You'll be much better off and far richer. — 1 year, 7 months ago

Burns and Doesn't Work For Me

I have combination skin with a lot of breakouts. My skin can handle pretty much all of the harsh products because it has been through so much, but this product burns really bad, and makes my entire face red. It's unpleasant for me to put it on. Keeps my skin clear

I use this gel in conjunction with the other products in Murad's acne kit, and I absolutely love it. I was skeptical of how well this product would work because I had used the Clinique system, and their exfoliating lotion did absolutely NOTHING for me. But, I was pleasantly surprised with this product, I no longer have breakouts! My face is completely soft and smooth, no more bumps! — 2 years, 4 months ago

yeah i really wanted this to work, i used the entire acne complex kit for 8 weeks and the breakouts never stopped,,,i dont think it made me worse jus didnt make it better...but i gave it a lot of time so now i have moved on to BE rare minerals skin care, love it! — 2 years, 9 months ago
