Sometimes worked, but most times did not work...
I purchased the Murad acne kit after highly recommended by a friend who also suffers from adult acne. It might work for my friend's skin, but for my skin it did not stop from having breakouts. It seemed to work better in the beginning, and healed some of the existing reddish pimples, but at the same time this gel dried out my skin (I have oily/combination skin). Thus, I did not use it for my entire face from the second time around, and I used it as a spot gel. Nevertheless, a few days later I still got new pimples. Just like many acne treatment gel, this one gave an itchy feeling. About the effectiveness, I think this gel is almost as effective as a $7 grocery store brand acne treatment/clearing gel. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

works when used with other Murad products
I tried the Murad anti-acne line after another line (Theraputix - I'd give them a very LOW rating if I could find them here) made my face break out worse than ever with awful cystic acne the likes of which I'd never had before. This product stings a little at first, but it really clears out your pores, and it has retinol, which treats the fine lines on my forehead as a bonus. You definitely need to use the skin perfecting cream afterwards, to moisturize and soothe your skin, but altogether, this line is a keeper. I saw results after two weeks, and the rebound acne was light and quickly dissapated. I am very happy with the Murad line — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 7 people said helpful

drying, but works
I only use this gel once a day because it's too harsh to use more than that. I like it though, because it really helps prevent breakouts all over my face. Using it once a day (and with the moisturizer) is enough for it be effective without drying my skin out. My only other complaint: the smell. ugh. But it's worth it :) — 4 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
