Rich Texture with Great Color Combinations

Though a bit on the expensive side, this is a great luxe eyeshadow quad. The formulas have an absolutely fabulous texture that go smooth on the eyelid. The formula is great for blending and patting - - and the color combinations on ALL of the palettes are well thought-out with the right combination of shimmer and matte. So in summary, great color, fabulous texture - - in an absolutely beautiful gold square compact. True luxe.10/12/2007

      This product is smooth yet lasts and the pigment color is optimal. Yeah, the price is steep but it's guerlain and one of the best that I've used. It doesn't feel to heavy or to harsh on your eyelids. June 15, 2008, 6:10 pm

      • Each ultra-feminine palette contains four delicate shadows that glide on to eyelids with the greatest of ease for extremely sophisticated results. The four shades can be mixed and blended in order to create true colour harmonies or contrasting pearly/mat effects. In all, there is a choice of eight different eyeshadow palettes, each designed to enable the creation of a multitude of make-up looks based on one single colour tone. Although the four shadows can be mixed and matched to create different contrasts, each shade also possesses its own special effect. The LIGHTER shade, bursting with pearly particles, makes the eyes dazzle with shimmering sparkle. VELVET is a velvety-textured shadow to be used as a base shade. MEDIUM, a slightly deeper shade, gives the eyes greater intensity. And finally, CONTOUR, a dark and intense shade, structures the overall look and accentuates the eyes with touches of light.

      • For an elegant shaded look : "Use a blend of two complementary shades chosen one next to the other. For example Velvet and Lighter." To add a touch of pure sophistication : "Use all four shades starting with the Lighter shade to illuminate the entire eyelid right up to the arch of the eyebrow. Then apply and blend the Velvet shade across the upper part of the mobile eyelid drawing the colour outwards with each stroke. Apply the Medium shade to the outer corner of the eye in order to enhance the overall depth and intensity of the look. Finally, use the Contour shade to emphasise and add radiance. Apply using the tapered end of the applicator to the outer corner of the eye at the point where the upper lashes meet the lower lashes."
