Boring on Me
I was really looking forward to testing this Chanel fragrance at Ulta but alas, it was nothing special.The Men's version was boring, too. Perhaps a parfum would be better. The notes of bergamot, patchouli, tonka bean, and sandalwood should be warm and wonderful but the blend just seemed ordinary.Maybe it just got old sitting on the shelf?This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

The Only Chanel Fragrance For Me!!
Most of chanel smells like old people to me but this one has like a chocolate, deep powdery, it lasts a long time and being parfum lasts longer and requires less, that is why it is also expensive. 13 Awful-Smelling Fragrances -
Long lasting and worth the price
I can't give it a ten star because my chemistry has changed , though it still smells good on me and I have to use literally a tad bit to go a long ways. When this first came out in 1998 I fell in love with it and my ex LOVE it on me. It's been one of my signature scents since them, but as I get older it smells so much more mature, must be my chemistry now because there are a lot of perfumes I cou...read moreldn't use before and now smell great on me. Even the eau de toilette last long and maybe that's my problem now.. I have to use the more water based one because the parfums are more because of the oil base that makes the scent more pure. This is a very sensual scent and not everyone one will smell good with it..I'd say get a sample and wait an hour after you put it on, to really see how it reacts with your chemistry. It use to be an everyday scent I could use, but now it seems more appropriate to use it out with the girls or to a lounge because of how it smells on me. It is an alluring smell, but I fear my time for wearing it is almost up, as where the older I get, the more it's starting to remind me of an grandma like scent. not in a good way, but who want's to smell like a grandmother when you're still young and have little one's who aren't even near graduating yet.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

A Mood Scent
Allure is one of those fragrances that holds a lot of personal significance for me: A memory scent. It was the first Chanel fragrance I purchased as a just-out-of-the-nest 18 year old who wanted to be sophisticated. I had no idea what "sophisticated" meant, but I knew enough about Coco Chanel to believe that she might help me fake it. Allure is a floral vanillla on me with magnolia at the top....read more It's classy and youthful at the same time, which could be due to the Itlaian citron. Dunno. In any case it's super sweet at first, and very easy to overuse. One spray lasts all day.The dry-down is almost incensey on me, and it loses those loud, sweet top notes after a couple of hours. Great Smelling Long Lasting!

Love Chanel but NOT this !!
I purchased Allure when it first came out some time ago. I have always loved all of Chanel perfume but NOT this... Way too strong and not very ALLURING....
