Streaked Pretty Bad...
I gave the Bare Minerals Faux Tan a 7 because I like the natural color it leaves but not for my fair skin. My skin does not take sunless tanning products very well so I give up looking for that golden glow. I have come to terms with the fact my skin will always be white. You can do it!
I am no expert on using sunless tanners, but I was able to use this successfully on my first try. I followed the directions and exfoliated first. I also used a brush to apply so I didn't have to worry about the product discoloring my hands. I made sure to apply quickly to large areas of my legs before I hit my knees, ankles and feet to avoid making these areas appear darker (I just used what remained on the brush in these areas). A few minutes after I applied the tanner, I followed with a generous application of moisturizer. Natural Color
I really love this sunless tanner because it gives my skin great color without streaking. It is so easy to apply and doesn't feel heavy or sticky. Used to be my favorite
The biggest advantage to this product is that you can see exactly where you're putting it, and you have immediate results. The drawback is that it's somewhat thick and you really need to rub it in. By the time I apply it all over, it's really sunk into my hands and I have a hard time getting it off my palms. I use a microderm scrub and soap to get it off. It has a slight tanning smell, but not as bad as most. The perfect self tanner
I LOVE this product and recommend it to all of my girlfriends. I even gave a bottle to one of my family members. You can see where you put it, it doesn't smell bad, and it works! No orange tint at all. When I'm done, I just scrub my hands with a sugar scrub, then soap, and there's no tell tale signs of the 'self tanner' hands. AWESOME!!!!!!
This is my second try at self tanners & I will look no further. I do not like sticky body moisturizers & most feel that way on me & I tend to stick to gels or creme-gels. I'm not sure if this is a creme-gel or a really light lotion but it absorbs & applies easily & leaves skin so soft & smooth it doesnt even feel like I have any lotion on! It has a slight tint so application is fool proof. Even though it dries fast I didnt have a problem blending it in & getting an even application. It says to wait a few minutes for it to dry but I didnt have to wait, just absorbed immediately. Even my hands did not feel greasy or sticky. I got an instant light tan on my pale legs & another 2 shades tanner after 3 hours. Awesome stuff! Just can't say enough good things about this! glow baby!
Aside from spray self-tanners, this is my favorite self-tanner in a lotion form! I've used this for several years and think I've finally perfected the application. I use a small clean compact sponge to apply it to my elbows and the tops of my hands and feet very lightly and I have practically no issues with this baby! I love the color-guide in the formula, and once it develops on my pale skin it is totally believable. I get a bottle of this every summer and I'm never unhappy! mixed feelings
This smells amazing (like cherries), goes on with color so you can see where you are applying it, and gives a great color. However, when you take a shower/ wash your face, you can see the brown going down the drain. It doesn't last long on skin and it tranfers to clothes. Absolutely love this product.
I'm very pale, and with every single tanner I've tried (believe me I've tried them all) they've either taken days to get a little bit of color or it ended up looking caked on with hues of orange and yellow. Bare Mineral's faux tan is what I swear by, better than any spray, lotion, gel or foam that I've used; Including the high end products. A bottle lasts me months (2-3), and I get a deep, full body tan. Not as dark as I would like
Bought this after hearing somany good things about it, and I used it for the first time last night. I used a mit to put it on and it worked better than I thought it would with the gel. when the gel comes out it is soo dark it looks scarry! It goes on much lighter though. The tan developed overnight with a slight odor which compared to most is not bad. I was disappointed to see that my feet were streaked. I need to be more careful in this area. I did exfoliate last night in the shower before application. I was able to fix my feet with some Lorac TANtalizer since it gives a bronze color and then I used nail polish remover to get the dark color off of my toes! I think I will get better with this over time.
