May 27, 2008, 11:15 pm The original Mineral Veil is one of my absolute favorite BE products. Ironically, the feather light mv is one of my least favorite. Mineral Veil does exactly what it claims, it absorbs excess oil while completely illuminating your entire face in a sort of diffused glow. It's excellent for diffusing and softening your makeup and giving you a very "finished" look. This is the only thing I bring with me and touch up throughout the day, and that's only because I have very oily skin. I do find that I require less touchups than with other loose finishing powders, and the large jar of MV lasts a very long time! The feather light mineral veil actually creates too much shine for me, and seems to have a sparkly quality to it. The traditional MV is definately the way to go - for me - in that it creates a luminous, yet still matte, look.4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Decent finishing powder, but could be more long-lasting

It leaves my skin almost flawless with a soft finish, that is, my skin doesn't look matte and flat yet any shine is taken away and my makeup overall looks softened and blended. I wish BM lasted longer to keep my face oil-free. After 2 hours, my nose starts to look "glowy" and eventually, I resort to blotting with blotting papers every 3-4 hours. I have noticed that Mineral Veil works well as a touchup on oily spots. I usually apply it by dipping a cotton ball in some Mineral Veil (I don't swirl b/c then the ball would absorb the Mineral Veil) and just dab on the crumbles of Mineral Veil onto my nose and other oily spots and that immediately takes away the shine and keeps it shine-free for 2-4 more hours.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I like this stuff
by kandigirl (9 reviews)Mineral veil surprised me because it is wearable by all skin complexions. I didn't it expect to fit me (a bronze-brown black woman) and my mom (as light as Alicia Keys with green eyes) but it did. It set my makeup, perfectly. I'm not a big makeup person, though, so I could live without it. Overall, BareMinerals makeup give my skin a certain luminosity (even though I have naturally oily skin) that kind of seems to "glow." But sometimes it can be overbearing. I switched to Sheer Cover and have had better success with finding a color close to my skin tone and less shine. Still, mineral veil will always be a topper for me, even over Sheer Cover.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I had bought a supermarket brand (similar to Bare Minerals foundation Mineral Veil) that was around $8/ea and thought it was working great - That was UNTIL we got a Sephora in our town just recently!! I went in and had them try the Mineral Veil on me and there is NO COMPARISON! Bare Minerals Mineral Veil's consistency is superfine compared to the kind of chunky consistency supermarket brand. Plus Mineral Veil goes on much smoother and more natural than what I was using. I purchased the Bare Minerals foundation and Mineral Veil right there and went home and threw away my other stuff. No comparison!3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

hated it!
by ybuzinova (17 reviews)
Me and my mom both bought this product and were not happy with the results! I have oily skin and my mom has normal/dry skin and it made both of us break out. Makes face make up look clumped and caked on after a few hours. Also don't use without a good moisturizer because it makes dry patches on skin VERY obvious! February 6, 2008, 10:32 pm I'm still fairly new to mineral based foundations/make ups and BareMinerals Mineral Veil has made the experience not only rewarding, but easy! I use it after applying BareMinerals foundation both as a foundation and a concealer, and BareMinerals Warm All Over and it simply pulls everything together in one flawless finish. After a slight learning curve it becomes very easy to apply without feeling heavy or like it's drying your skin out and it's staying power is simply extraordinary. I couldn't be happier with this product.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

December 27, 2007, 10:34 am I have tried the Mineral Veil on top of my BE foundation and for the most part, I like it as a finishing step. Sometimes I get a great "airbrushed" look, others not so much. I have also tried the "sandwich" where you use Mineral Veil, then foundation, then MV again. It definately helps to seal in your makeup and give it a vry soft, cornsilk-like texture. I used to use the MV and warmth so I figured I'd save money and try the tinted MV. I was wrong. The color is way too muddy and orangey. Its almost like rust grew on my face. I try to use very little, then build on the color but it always ends up looking the same way. Its a bad idea altogether. Skip it!3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

keeps me from looking oily but never chaulky

I got the whole starter set, and while i have given up on most of the products (they seem to unhelpfully accentuate the peachy-fuzz on my face) I have stuck with the mineral veil. after just putting on concealer and cream blush i set it all with mineral veil. I end to get a bit oily as the day goes on but this stuff keeps things under control all day. But it doesn't look totally matte either. I buff a minimal amount on with the full coverage kabuki brush concentrating on my forehead then I rub my hands gently over my face to remove any excessive powder and done. I had never been a particularly big powder person but this stuff is great. just make sure you run your hands over you face to get the powder from settling on YOUR peach fuzz!3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

November 30, 2007, 9:42 am When I first heard that this powder was the Foundation Makeup of the future & Once you use it you will never go back to cream foundation, I was VERY SKEPTICAL! But I will tell you one thing, when I actually sat down and tried it, It KNOCKED MY SOCKS OFF! I suffer from Dark under & Over eye circles & some broken capillaries & I always used Revlon Color Stay Foundation, which is a very thick coverage formula. I couldn't actually fathom that a powder foundation would provide me with the coverage I needed to hide those problem areas BUT as I sat down & started putting the product on per their instructions I was ABSOLUTELY AMAZED that a few strokes & swirls of the brush (which is provided by the way!) took away those problem areas BETTER than any cream foundation I had ever used in my 24 years of makeuping. IT REALLY DOES WORK, I SWEAR! ( Believe me! I Really am the BIGGEST skeptic!) The best thing about bare Minerals is that they have all different shades that you can blend to make the perfect coverage for your needs & it is filled with all kinds of Good Stuff for your skin so it is not like you are putting all kinds of formulated chemicals on, it is all natural (which means that if you go to sleep with out taking it off, it won't ravage you complexion!) & if by chance you still need to wear that ole liquid foundation this stuff is a great finishing powder as well! SO I definately give it a 10 out of 10, I really believe in it & swear by it, Hope you'll be happy with it too!3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I love the fact that their stores are always there to match my skin summer when tanner and winter when that great tan fades. This is also easy to travel with and is not a liquid therefore not a problem in your suitcase when traveling. I find that since using this my skin has a "glow" look all day long and at 40 if you can achieve a glow to your skin why try anything else.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.
