Seriously overrated!
Im really tired of Bare Minerals getting all the credit for mineral make-up when there is about fifty brands that do it 100% better. This make-up has no coverage whatsoever and its SO dry even my oily skin is so thirsty for moisture at the end of the day it causes imbalance in my skin! Also it looks like somebdy hit me in the face with an eraser its so chalky and yucky. NO thanks!
After all the hype, infomercials et al I really was excited to try this - and was really disappointed! I have pretty good skin for my age (53), and few lines or actual wrinkles but this settled into what lines I DO have, and I thought it made my skin look cakey. (And YES - I did watch the video, and practiced with the brush. Great for dry, sensitive skin!
My mom is a huge fan of bareminerals, and when I decided to start wearing makeup, she wanted my to try this before anything else. I started out with just concelor, and mineral viel. I didn't like it, so I turned to liquid foundation...I used it for a while, loved it, until my skin broke out horribily. For Christmas, my mother, still convinced that bareminerals was the way to go, bought me a starter kit with the foundation, warmth, and mineral viel. I FELL IN LOVE!!! This foundation is the only stuff that works for me! It has actually improved my skin. I don't break out nearly as much, and it isn't as bad(of course I found Noxema, the best cleanser ever also, but this stuff is helping!) My skin is very dry, and sensitive and this was fabulous! I get compliments all the time on my flawless complextion! :) I just put on some Formula 1006 Seriously Shine Free moisturizer, then this! Light coverage
I fell in love with bare minerals when they first got big on the market. But then was before my acne flared up. Not that I have some scarring I can't use this stuff. The coverage isn't just light it's practically non existent! Overated
I find that everytime I open this product, no matter how carefully,it spills. And whenever I try to pat it on an imperfection, it just looks way too powdery and cakey, even after I blend. It doesn't look all that natural, like people say. Overall, I would say it was overated. Didn't care for
I so needed this product to work to try to get a better complexion. But I didn't care for this line. The product was messy and left me with shiny skin. or if I applied too much, very irridescent skin, yuck! Heavy Product
I didn't care for the texture and consistency of this makeup and found that L'Oreal's equivalent is preferable. It provides a very matte finish and is difficult to evenly distribute over your skin without a lot of blending. A little certainly goes a long way. Great Great foundation!
I was hesitant to try this, just because I have many foundations. I love this foundation. It glides on sheer, smooth, silky and leaves your face looking next to flawless. Great foundation
I think it's all about how you apply it. The first shade I tried was a little too dark and really accentuated my pores/wrinkle. But, by going a shade down and learning to apply it with a very light hand, now my pores/wrinkles are hardly noticeable. I would also recommend a primer to those worried about pores...though usually I just dust a light layer of mineral veil before foundation as a sort of primer. Works for me. Anyway, the key is several light layers NOT fewer heavier layers...it doesn't take much time if you have a good brush, and it pays off.
