GOOD STUFF
Buffs out freckles and fine lines. Easy blended color. Good stuff. — 4 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful

Makes skin look terrible
I am not a fan of BE makeup. The foundation is too shimmery for me. Makes my skin look terrible - makes my pores look HUGE and lines and wrinkles more pronounced. Plus, it makes my skin itch so bad (especially in warm weather) that I can't wait to get it off. I've found other mineral makeup that I love, so it's not a mineral makeup thing - it's just that Bare Essentials isn't for me. Thankfully there are tons of brands out there so we can all find what works with our wants and needs. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 7 people said helpful

Great for my sister, but not for me
I've tried and tried and tried this again and every time I give it a shot with hopes, it ends up failing. The colors don't stay true throughout the day, it looks like a complete oil slick on my face and that's in the winter time. Settles into fine lines and makes my pores look huge. — 3 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful

Thick & Cakey
I purchased this because it has physical sunblock so on top of my lotion sunblock I figure this would give me additional protection. The small amount of product gets used up quick and there is quite a bit of product loss when transferring from brush to face. It also goes on really thick and cakey. My skin felt suffocated. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 9 people said helpful

It doesn't live up to the hype.
I fell for the commercials but after using it for a few weeks, I don't think it's the end all be all of foundation. I had hoped that this would replace the others that I use so I would only need one that would take less time to apply and last longer. I do notice that it helps cover up red spots or blemishes nicely, but other than that, I feel like I am applying 4-5 coats (no swirl, tap and buff like the commercial which doesn't seem to cover) and I get really shiny during the day. I had higher hopes for this one! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 9 people said helpful

Good And Bad...
I've been using BM on and off for the past few years. I've recently been assuaged by adult acne (I'm 38) and have combination, olive-toned skin. Bare Minerals is okay and looks good on me, but sometimes, I must put too much on because it does tend to have a weird shimmer-effect (like diffused lighting in a 70's photo). Also, my other two complaints would be that it doesn't last (no more than three hours tops!), and it doesn't take away the oiliness of my nose. I have to use pressed powder on my nose to finish my look and take away the shine. Other than those few complaints, I do like the coverage and the "naturalness" of it. :) — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

Bleh
I finally bought it on a whim after watching the infomercial a million times. I also heard wonderful things about it from word of mouth, so I wasn't prepared for how disappointed I would be with this. I used it for over two weeks, thinking that maybe my application technique was off. I really really tried to like this product and get into the whole natural mineral makeup thing. Even after trying all possibiities, it still falls flat of being a good product, at least for me. I find it settles into large pores and although you could add more coverage with more powder, the more you add the more plastic your skin starts to look. Yuck! I don't like the overall look, or the feel, or the mess, or the low quality brushes they force you to buy. A lot of people seem to like this product a lot, but I'm just not one of them. — 5 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 30 of 40 people said helpful

Love It
I use this instead of liquid foundation & my skin looks great. My skin looks flawless & it's so easy to apply. I also like that it stays on my skin all day unlike liquid makeup which seems to slide off or get absorbed by the end of the day. Plus even though it can be expensive, 1 container lasts a long time. I am obviously a big fan. — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 7 people said helpful

Not One of the Lovers
I wanted to love this because so many get to benefit from it but I didn't have that opportunity to because first of all, I couldn't find the perfect shade unless I blended two shades together and it's impractical to pay $50.00 for a mineral foundation by purchasing two of theses especially with the following comments. This isn't waterproof either, if you ever pass by a sprinkler of some sort or mist your face with a spritz hydrator, this will look very caked on or unnatural, even after just sweating. Another factor, that metallic sheen finish or the "satin" finish as some people mention it is isn't so great as I prefer a more matte finish or dewy but not shiny like this one delivers. Skin friendly? Hardly, in my situation, it did cause a bit of itching and if you scratch, you'll find clumps of the foundation left on your face leaving little streaks of uneven foundation. Yikes! This didn't do much to control shine and I found that it only looks its best over primer which is a step I avoid if I'm just using every day regular makeup. Another negative factor? The casing, it can be a bit messy and you may end up losing some product especially if you overload your brush and tap away to let some just fall off and flutter anywhere else but most mineral foundations come this way so I'll try not to count points against that. Overall, this product disappointed me. A better alternative is the Urban Decay which carries a more subtle sheen, more matte and controls oil better in my opinion except that they're primarly golden and olive based which is better for my skintone. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 12 of 14 people said helpful
