This product didn't do anything! It had a pleasant enough fragrance and didn't really irritate my sensitive skin, but I saw no improvement in the tone or texture of my skin. This is not worth the money at all. — 1 year, 1 month ago

Great primer--not for sensitive skin, though

I really wish this one worked for me. It is a really good primer. It has a pleasant, but strong citrusy scent and a nice creamy silicone texture to it--perfect consistency. It smooths the skin and maybe plumps it slightly to give it a really nice finish--great to apply foundation and powder products over. The downside is that it really, really irritates my skin so I cannot use it. That may be a good thing for me because I generally do not use a makeup primer, but otherwise might consider this one and it is pretty expensive. If you have sensitive skin, this is probably not for you. If you do not have sensitive skin, use up a decent sized sample and see how it works for you before you commit to buying it. — 1 year, 7 months ago

Smooth Operator!

Please remember pores do not shrink, a product can make them APPEAR to shrink. I was sceptical about this product because I have heard a lot of bs from a lot of companies. I had a deluxe sample so I decided what the heck. I love the feel of this product and how smooth and soft it makes my skin feel while I am wearing it, and how it evens out the appearance of my skin and makes my pores less noticeable. I really like this product except for the HUGE price tag on the large bottle. — 3 years, 8 months ago

Good but pricey

I have received samples of this on and off over the years whenever I shop EL during their gift time. I love the velvity smooth way it makes my skin feel. For the price (and huge list of chemical ingredients), however, I can live without it. The smallest bottle is around $70.00 before tax, and the largest bottle is around $160.00. For that price it should also take care of wrinkles, discolorations and under eye circles.... If you can get over the price, this serum will indeed make your skin feel luxuriously smooth and soft thanks to its silicone base. Applying makeup afterwords is a breeze, and makeup even looks better when applied after using this even if you have been using the same colors and application techniques for years. The scent is pretty, like citrus, and goes away after application. I do have a problem with this when the weather is hot and sweaty. It mixes with the moisture on your skin and everything just sort of slides right off. If you love the feel of this but want something much cheaper and heat resistant, try DHC Velvet Coat. — 2 years, 7 months ago

Good, but not perfect

I had used Smashbox in the past, and the primer was good. I thought since I bought Estee Lauder double wear base, that the Idealist would work as well. It does work, but it dries out my t-zone, which would be the whole point of using it! It makes the skin so dry it just looks flaky. Would rather use Smashbox. — 1 year, 7 months ago

I love this product! My 40 something face has NEVER looked better! I suffer from adult acne combination skin and fine lines. This product has cleared my acne, refined my pores, and neutralized my combination skin, namely the oily parts. I can not live without this product. I got a sample about 6 months ago, loved it, but then the price put me off. So, I searched for substitute product, my face suffered ! Acne returned oily parts went into over drive and the dry patches started to flake, so I got another sample and VIOLA within a week or week and a half, my pretty skin returned, now I will not try anything else but this product. This product covers up my acne and smooths my complexion to ensure smooth and even application of my foundation. I have pretty oily skin and this product keeps my makeup looking fresh throughout the day. It does not shrink the pores, but I'm sorry people, this is not possible, pores are pores, they are there they will not shrink, you can use products to conceal their appearance but nothing will make them actually shrink. This product helps conceal their appearance so it gets an A in my book. — 5 months ago

Not that good

I bought this product based on its popularity. And the brand on the bottle, but I have to say it was like I wasn't using it at all. Not even the slightest difference. And not to mention it's price. I would not recommend it to anyone. And I have to add that I don't have that big of a problem with pores, only on my nose there are a few that stand out. And If it it didn't solve my problem I don't see it solving somebodies that has really large pores — 5 months ago
