Stila Multi-Effect Mascara promises to do the work of three formulas: volumize, lengthen and curl. Sound too good to be true? It is, but Stila at least gets two jobs done. The thick brush with densely packed bristles helps add volume while the curved shape helps boosts curl a bit. Only length leaves a lot to be desired. A large tube and a deep, inky black help justify the high price and low color selection. So if what you seek is a basic formula that lasts all day without flaking or smudging, this mascara is worth trying.

    Definitely worth it!

    I also am a redhead with very light lashes. Black eye makeup is too harsh on my skin, and most regular browns are too light. Stila's Multi-Effect Mascara in Brown was perfect! My lashes have a natural curl to them, so I cannot comment on that. But the color lasts all day, it never clumps, and the shape of the brush makes ap...plication a breeze! My favorite part, however, was this: I used to use Maybelline's Full 'n' Soft, but it constantly clumped together in the corner of my eyes. I officially fell in love with Stila's mascara when it was the end of the day and this hadn't happened yet. A good buy! March 21, 2008, 9:37 am

    Natural Looking Lashes

    I am a big mascara wearer. I have different types for different looks. But sometimes, I just want my lashes to look feathery, thick, and natural. That is where this mascara comes in. It is so easy to apply, and the wand really helps get into the corners of the eyes. The mascara itself is not clumpy, and it creates that beau...tiful feathery full natural look. I love it.     Better than Great Lash?

    In 20 years of make-up wearing, this is the first mascara that got me to switch from trusty pink-and-green Great Lash. It was a free sample that did it. I have thin, light-colored lashes that are naturally invisible, combined with extremely sensitive eyes. The Stila mascara added volume and length without being clumpy, a...nd didn't bother my peepers. Good stuff. November 29, 2007, 1:23 pm

    This is a great mascara for creating a dramatic look for your eyes. The mascara brush coats on the formula thick but not clumpy. It adds volume and definition to each lash and lengthens a little. This is great for everyday for a good luck. November 4, 2008, 1:08 am

    Doesn't do anything

    I have red hair, and as such have very pale lashes, which are also very thin and sparse. This mascara didn't make my lashes thick and long, and just made it look like I had put black paint on the bottom side of my lashes. February 13, 2008, 4:09 pm

    Full, curled lashes

    I love this mascara, it makes my light lashes look longer, darker, and a lot more curled. It's also very easy to apply, because of the shape of the brush allows you to get every angle. The reason I gave it a nine instead of a ten is because it's a bit expensive, and I had a tube once that broke just from dropping on the gro...und. January 26, 2008, 2:22 pm

    Get a different mascara!

    This product was part of a gift set that was on sale at Sephora. PROS: The color pigmentation was decent (black), the texture was okay. I like the sleek silver packaging. No clumping, flaking or smudging problems. CONS: But, Stila's Multi-Effect Mascara is worse than most d/s mascara. Caused my eyes to become slightly red... and irritated (and I've hardly ever had any eye products do that!). I hate the curved brush applicator because there was always too much product stuck to the end of it. Also, I hate curved mascara brushes generally, and prefer a straight brush. I didn't see 'multiple effects'--just regular mascara. Weighs down my lashes a bit, which I've never had problems with before. Difficult to remove, even with makeup remover labeled for waterproof mascara removal. May be contributing to me losing lashes! It was just a not-very-good mascara. Overall, this is not a product I will be buying. I might not even use it all, b/c it's hard to remove and seems to be damaging my lashes a little. April 22, 2009, 7:26 pm

    Could Be Better

    It's advertised as "A gentle, curling, volumizing, and lengthening mascara." It volumizes & lengthens well but no curling on my straight Asian lashes. There's a little clumping. The curled brush deposits too much mascara on the inner corner of lashes. April 14, 2009, 3:07 am

    Maybe-Effect

    This is a average mascara I did not notice anything to special about it. However it did seem to flake off midway through the day. Overall I do not think it is worth the money. April 5, 2009, 3:23 pm
