Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow Reviews

Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow
TWMichello (160 reviews)I never would have imagined myself wanting a matte white shadow, but when I went on a matte eyeshadow kick recently, I decided I needed a good all-purpose matte highlight shade. I love Urban Decay's matte eyeshadows, and Yeyo turned out to be just what I wanted. Yeyo is white white and absolutely matte, but it's silky, without even a trace of chalkiness. I agree 100% with the reviewer who remarked that Yeyo makes you look like you've had a good night's sleep. Apply Yeyo on the inner corners of your upper lids, and it will pop your eyes wide open! I'm very pale (NW15), and Yeyo subtly but effectively "lights up" my face, anywhere I put it. The packaging is fine, consisting of a sturdy mirrorless flip-top compact designed to resemble a subway token. I'll always want this one on hand, I think. Got this as a birthday present and was quite excited to use this. I have tried UD matte eyeshadows and they are amazing when you don't want tons of glitter on your face. I expected this to be a really nice pigmented white but sadly it hardly shows up on the face. I've learned to use this shadow as a brightener/highlighter on the highpoints of the face though such as the brow bone, down the nose, and above cheekbones and it does give a very subtle brightening effect in those areas :). Love the texture and packaging. I love this eyeshadow. It's rich white and silky smooth to the touch - it's Urban Decay quality I guess. Totally matte with a beautiful soft finish. I've been using it as an under eye highlight on my fair complexion and it instantly brightens me up. I find most other highlights are just too yellow or orange or shimmery ... plain white is just what I needed. I'm very cool toned so for someone with a warmer base, this might not be as wonderful. I absolutely adore this eyeshadow. I love using it as my brow highlight, because I usually use a shimmer on top of my lid and in my crease, and I like the way the different textures compliment each other. First off, the quality of the shadow is unreal. It truly feels like velvet. It glides on with absolute ease, and doesn't look chalky or cakey. The other benefit is that it's buildable, so you can apply a light later, or add a lot more for a more intense color. It is a staple of mine, and I will go to it about 5 times a week. Urban Decay Shadows
CaroleVonAllten (1154 reviews)UD make the BEST shadows of any company. They are highly pigmented and really last. Unbelievable. They blend well and have a good selection of colors. — 6 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Great pigment
beautybody (127 reviews)I have only one of these in chronic which is a pretty grass green color with a very very light shimmer. It goes on smoothly and is very very pigmented. It can be put on lightly for a more sheer look or layered for a more vibrant look. This is a little bit superficial, but I absolutely adore the packaging. It is compact and cute. — 2 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Urban Decay Matte Eyeshadow
lesa5363 (347 reviews)I love eyshadow, and I love Urban Decay. I love the original shadows, so I decided I would try a few of these out. I was not disappointed. They are evry bit as silky and pigmented as the original line. They blend well, are buildable, and last very well even without a primer. They last a long time because the pigmentation level is so high, you don't use much, so it takes forever to hit pan. They are a great product for the money they cost, they are simply some of the best shadows I have ever used. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Smooth
SubCulture (228 reviews)Only shade I have used is Yeyo, a matte white, no shimmer. It's very smooth & blendable. I used it as a highlighter under brows & it really brightens but is not chalky white, just blends into the skin. — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

12 Best Eye Shadows -
Wonderful!!!
EireItalia (271 reviews)I love these Matte Eyeshadows. Probably the best mattes I have ever used. Not at all chalky like many matte shadows. Goes on evenly and easily blended. Even the vibrant colours are sheer enough to not be gaudy. Long-lasting and stays true to colour. Urban Decay is such a great brand. I hope this product is here to stay! — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Underground Low Key Starlette Eyeshadow
Starluxe (298 reviews)Matte should never mean dull and in Urban Decay's case, it never is. These matte colors deliver such a great pigmented finish that is matte but vibrant and vivid, true to life. The casing is slightly darker than the original token eyeshadow casing but it is still the same size and concept except the contents inside are toned down from the shimmers and glitters that have been twinkling in the spotlight for some time. I think of these as the undercover eyeshadows that certain ladies prefer over the center of attention sparkle pieces. Because there isn't an embellished finish, people might assume this is out for plain Janes who love the brand and want to be part of the group that adores this, but no - it is not. It is for the diva in you that decides that less may just be more especially if you want a little more you to show through. These are beautiful, I tell you. If you try one, you may just get hooked! Take an eyeliner brush, dip it water and pat it on this and line away. It's one of the most innovative eyeshadows that can transform into an eyeliner without all the messy loose particles around that they just simply titled "pigments" which seem to disperse in every direction but where it is wanted. These are obedient eyeshadows waiting for you to give your command and anything you want them to do, they'll grant your wish (maybe except a few things like buy you that hot silver Lexus). — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 8 people said helpful

7 Worst Eyeshadows -
One of the best matte eyeshadows I've come across
KarliRae (10 reviews)I really love these shadows. But then again, I love anything from Urban Decay. These shadows are smooth, pigmented, and gorgeous. They blend fabulously. Especially for matte shadows. In the pan, they seem to have a little bit of shimmer. But I assure you, once you put it on, it's 100% matte. No shimmer at all. The packaging is the same as the regular UD shadows (besides the color. These are bronze instead of silver). I have Yeyo, Chronic, Narcotic, Revolver, and Naked. And I love ALL of them. I really hope they come out with more colors, because the selection isn't really large (though, its not extremely small either. Moderate sized with a decent number of both neutral and bright shades. But there can always be more!) Overall, I would definitely say that these are worth the money. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
