Underwhelming.

I have this in "Work is Overrated," which is a shimmery pale lavender in the jar, and a cool frosty sheen on eyes. (Gotta love the Balm's cute product and shade names).What it claims to do: "Overshadow was created to add a luxe look to the lid, taking the most subtle daytime shadow and amping it up for nighttime fun. Apply over your favorite shadow to give a fresh look to your staple shadows color...read mores. Dust the lighter shades on shoulders, cheeks - anywhere - for a sexy shimmer." So basically, it's a sheer shadow. You can use it as an allover color if you just want a hint of shimmer and not much color. Or you can use it over another shadow (this is kind of an underwhelming concept to me...because you could do that with any shadow really?) I personally do not like loose powders because they get everywhere. It does tend to fade/look muddy by the end of the day, even with eyeshadow primer. I wouldn't repurchase.

Great transformer

I have work is overrated. It does come off a bit too shimmery at first but tones down through the day. I wore it over some purple colors and it turned it into a taupe purple color that looked gorgeous. They are loose shadows in adorable containers. A tiny bit goes a long way. I want to buy the other three colors now! I find that I enjoy grabbing it so I can experiment and find out how it will chan...read morege the color I pick for the day! It's a really great product that doesn't get enough love. Maybe because that is because people don't know how to use it or don't realize the way it can change an eyeshadow color to something completely unique. I highly recommend. If you want to save money check Haute Look regularly for when the balm comes at a discount.

the only loose product worth the hassle

I am not a big fan of mineral shadows in general - too messy. But these are packaged well and the performance, just like any product from TheBalm, is fantastic. I have all four colors. They are highly pigmented and have a great texture. There is enough shimmer to give the colors depth, but not enough to keep me from wearing them on workdays. I've even bought back-ups!

Wonderful

I only gave it ten stars because I haven't worn it enough to know about its staying power, but as for the color--perfect! I got in No Money, No Honey--a light gold. I wanted a gold eyeshadow for school that wasn't too bold for school, and found this in Sephora. I don't know how long the container will last, as it is a loose powder, but fifteen dollars is good for the color, I suppose. Love the color. Combined with a good eyeliner, it makes for great eyes.

Great product

I recently bought a kit that had this "overshadow" so I used it in the inner corner of my eye and on my browbone. In the pot it looks like it could be too sparkly, but when I put it on it was just perfect. It looked more like a highligter. The quality is very good, very blendable and I've used it alone, over shadows for a little bit more luminosity or depth, or as a highlighter. The Balm eyeshadows have really impressed me and they're a new favorite!
