Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion Reviews

Nice
I use this as backup. I don't find it moisturizing enough for my super dry skin but I like how my face doesn't freak out with this so its nice for a back up — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

not so different...
nice and lightweight so you don't feel like your pores are clogging or your t-zone's shining...but personally it feels a bit thin or watered-down, i actually prefer a creamier (but not necessarily greasier or heavier) moisturizer. this stuff just disappears when you rub it in and i can't help but wonder if it's just evaporating - i don't get that "soothing sinking in my skin" moisturizing feeling. and my cheeks still feel a bit dry... — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Middle of the road
This is a good, all purpose facial moisturizer. Nothing fancy like wrinkle prevention, skin lightening, or any antiaging properties beyond keeping your skin hydrated. It does a pretty good job of that, and I have found that it actually works pretty well on surgical scars. I used this instead of Mederma and was pretty shocked at how evenly and quickly my scar faded. — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Not a fan
Yuck. I never understood the popularity of this product...especially since there are so many other options out there now. This is basically mineral oil. I know that the 3-Step works for some people, but Clinique has other products that are much, much more effective and pleasant to use. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Not Dramatic
I tried this moisturizer as part of Clinique's 3 Step Skin Care. After using this for several weeks I noticed nothing dramatic at all. If anything my skin was a little oilier after using this but that certainly isn't a plus. The lotion had an off-putting chemical smell and the fake yellow color wasn't so inviting either. It's not a thick lotion but it's still a little much for normal skin that tends to be a little oily. It won't be enough for someone with dry skin or a tendency to get dry. This lotion is over-hyped in my opinion. There are too many good ones out there to waste time and money on this one, especially in a skin care system that isn't all that. I wouldn't buy this again. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

great for semi dry places and normal skin
During the winters in Hawaii the weather was not dry, but drier than the summer times. This worked great for my normal/combo skin, but since moving to the states my skin has become super dry in the states of Nevada and CO. I got a huge bottle of this for my pre-teen daughter who lives in Hawaii and she has combination skin and she likes this product. It's a good price and last a long time, so this is worth the investment, but it really depends on the season and state you live in. — 6 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Bleh
I used to love this product, but not so much anymore. This lotion is not great for harsh NYC winters, but yet too greasy for the summer. I keep it around whenever I just need a cheap moisturizer to throw on my face when I run errands. It never feels like it soaks into my skin and feels like it's just a film that sits on top of my skin. It doesn't dry matte and leaves my face shiny and disgusting looking. The gel version is much better, surprisingly. But as far as this original version goes, I'm no longer a fan. I only use it when they give the sample size portions of it out with the Clinique gift bags. — 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Old Standby
I have used this lotion for years on & off. I like to change up my facial products. But I do always seem to have some of this in my medicine cabinet. Lately I have been using it as a hand cream before bed. It absorbs quickly & makes skin soft. I also keep a small tube of it in my hand bag. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Contrasting Usage For Different Skin Types
While the gel version of this is moderately light and very clean in finish, this lotion is more like a cream considering that it can thin out a foundation finish and leave one a bit oily by mid day. I found this formula heavier and thicker so it already made my sensitive skin uncomfortable as it felt suffocated as a thin application was smoothed on. The day few days, I noticed little bumps on my skin surfacing due to irritation so I abruptly stopped using this and decided to bid it farewell. My sister on the other hand had found it a miracle worker to her eczema prone dry skin so it will definitely benefit her more than it did to me and found that the moisture lasted her longer than her current moisturizer. I gave this a fair rating for both our experiences so a six would be adequate with a reminder that blemish prone, sensitive skin should be avoiding this item. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Great for dry skin!
I always shake my head when I see reviewers complain about a product that isn't meant for them. This lotion is for very dry to dry combo skin. It shouldn't be used on oily skin. Okay, now that I've said that, I have dry skin and love this lotion. Sometimes in the winter I supplement this lotion with a heavier cream for my neck and cheeks and in the summer I usually use a lighter lotion, but for most of the year this is exactly what my dry skin needs. It penetrates quickly so if you are having trouble with it being to oily or not penetrating, you should probably get a product for normal or oily skin instead. I also love that it isn't heavily fragranced and that a little goes a long way. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
