February 3, 2008, 11:37 am I used this shortly after the birth of my first child on some stretch marks. I followed the instructions of the 2-3 times a day application and put it on the side where the marks were the worst. After using about two tubes worth of it religiously, the marks did fade quite a bit. Even now, 4 years later, the side I used the ointment on more heavily is less noticeable than the side I used it more sparingly on. I might have had even better results had I been able to continue to use it, but at 8-10.00 a tube, and a new baby, and a low paying job, I just couldn't. On the flip side, I think one of the ways it works is by killing of the top layer of skin and forcing your body to make a new layer. My skin itched and peeled. So, that is an annoying side effect to deal with. Not sure if everyone has that issue when using it, but I did. I figured it was part of how it worked. I have never tried it on older scars. If it wasn't so pricey I would be willing to try it on my 1 year old stretch markes from my 2nd child. February 3, 2008, 11:37 am

My 2 year old broke a mirror with his head (I know...) and had a pretty good gash on his forehead. I applied the Mederma immediately after it was healed and it took about 3 months but there is absolutely NO color left to the scar. It's still raised but you can barely see it. I applied the Mederma immediately after it was healed and it took about 3 months but there is absolutely NO color left to the scar. It's still raised but you can barely see it. Didn't work on any old scars but I wasn't real good about applying it every day for a half of a year. Works good but takes some patience. February 23, 2008, 8:30 am

    Not sure about product results.

    by SashaB (5 reviews)
I used this on some surgery scars and I didn't see any improvement at all. I believe that it works, but I also think that a lot has to do with the incision as well as genetics. So I would possibly opt for another product if one's available. May 29, 2008, 11:23 am

    Allergy!

    by ForgetMeNotAM (35 reviews)
I had to stop using this treatment on my scar because my husband was allergic to it! He would experience angioedema every time I put it on, so I had to stop using it. I found it a little irritating to my skin, but it was tolerable. I didn't see any short term results, and was not able to continue using it for the long term.... Great Product

    by soaper1l (5 reviews)
I haven't personally used this product but I have friends that have. I heard this product is great for new and old scars and also stretch marks. I would definitely pay the price for this product. I have heard nothing but good about it. April 24, 2008, 7:41 am

    only for new scars

    by smiley48 (136 reviews)
I didn't see much improvement when I tried this on a few scars. There was some faint change on the newest one I tried it on, but even after using this for a few months it wasn't enough of a change to make me still use. February 15, 2008, 8:18 am

I tried this product on an old facial scar and....no change. Maybe it would work on a new scar, I didn't notice any change. February 1, 2008, 6:40 pm

    Worth the money??
