L'Oreal Paris HiP Shocking Shadow Pigments

Shocking is right! This deceptively tiny pot of loose shadow lasts long and actually delivers a professional look at drugstore prices. Nars lovers with thin wallets will delight in rich colors, though the range of shades -- six, all iridescent -- could be broader. The built-in sifter isn't spill-proof but controls application. The crowning achievement is the compact, pro-quality brush, included but separate from the shadow. I rely on it so much, I panic when it's missing.

April 26, 2008, 1:30 pm Some may not like the texture of these pigments, which aren't as fine as others, but they brush on beautifully and all the colors are lovely - they definitely need more! The brush that comes with is a little stiff, but I can usually use it to apply the pigments without much problem. The wear is long, and the product will last you a while... which is good because they're not exactly cheap by drugstore standards. The sifter is great for getting a good amount of product, just be careful not to spill it. These really make for some great eye looks, though, whether you layer them or use one or two by themselves. Very pretty, very intense. Comparable to higher-end pigments, IMO! April 26, 2008, 1:30 pm

LOVE THIS. the colors are great, so glam, so shimmery, totally loaded with pigement, long lasting, and in a good size jar, comes with a fab brush, which i have bought other similar brushes for 20$, so its like, the brush is on sale, and the shaodw is free! May 4, 2008, 6:57 pm

    Fantastic shadow!

    by Siouxsee (6 reviews)
I think that when I mixed it with water it was like unleashing a beautiful, electric color on my eyes. Used dry it lends a wonderful muted color to the lids. This is one of the best shadows I have used in years. March 27, 2008, 10:18 pm

    eyes burned!

    by AbbyNorris (4 reviews)
I love experimenting with different shadows, when I used this, loved the color but it wasn't so nice to my eyes. They began burning not long after I applied. I tried again thinking it was a bad-eye-day, same thing! March 25, 2008, 11:05 am

March 24, 2008, 12:03 pm i love this product because you can control the intensity. i love how the powder has one base shade and a different, complimentary highlight shimmer. the blue-and-brown one is my favorite for rocking a smoky eye, because you can just keep smudging and adding it! i also like the lighter colours, though they require more layers. my only sadness is that the shimmer wears off faster than the base, and can get in my eyes. (don't wear this in water!) March 24, 2008, 12:03 pm

Great color, but texture needs work

It's also hard to apply them dry (as I did the first time I wore it) and the powder got all over my face. I'd recommend to try using these wet, as they're a great deal if you find them on sale. Otherwise, I might pass altogether. February 19, 2008, 7:18 pm

I really lke the imtense color factor the H.I.P. line gives. The colors are so vibrent they deserve the name High Intensity. I have them all and use the entire line..... I use them when I'm looking for the extra WOW! Its even better when you use them wet. December 12, 2007, 9:19 am

    Very Nice Pigment

For this to be at such a low price for high quality is amazing in this day and age. These loose shadow pigments could compare to MAC, Lancome, SmashBox, etc. Its just as good. I did not like it

    by Suzumi (3 reviews)
it great if you just wanted to use it for color, I was hoping to be able to use it like I with the mac paint, but holding the eyes color if your adding pigments to it, will not will will at all. IF you just want to use it for color on your lids, then go head. but for me its too thick. May 29, 2008, 6:31 am
