Subtle glow
by Capsfille (22 reviews)
If you have a half-way decent complexion, using this product will push you over the edge to glowing! Evens out subtle imperfections, but I would not recomend if you have acne or scars. Try Philosophy "The Present" if so... November 12, 2007, 1:15 pm5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

May 1, 2008, 9:14 am I have tried everything to cover the dark circles under my eyes and dicoloration on my eyelids. Nothing ever worked, all of the other products I've tried either make it look worse or look like I've caked on a pound of make-up. Just a little bit of "that gal" under my regular make-up (Benefit's "some kind of gorgeous", which if fabulous too )gets rid of all the darkness and makes me look 10 years younger and glowing with good health! Even just a little by itself when I don't have much time works wonders! It stays on, never gets dry or cakey, and a container of it lasts forever! It's the best item invented EVER!4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Disappointing

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Benefit cosmetics fan. Even though some of their products are a bit gimmicky, I love them, and continue to buy them over and over. March 2, 2008, 7:55 am Let me start by saying that I am a huge Benefit cosmetics fan. Even though some of their products are a bit gimmicky, I love them, and continue to buy them over and over. I've never gotten into the colors, but that's because I'm not much of a neutrals girl, and they obviously do neutrals super well. But I need color! Lots of color! Anyway. That being said, I think I have finally found the one product by Benefit that I just plain don't like. I'm forever looking for a decent foundation primer, and as soon as I figured out that I needed one badly, I turned to Benefit first. I grabbed That Gal because 1) it was Benefit; 2) it has the cityscape of NYC on it, and we all know that I heart NYC and 3) it was supposed to "brighten" my face as well as prime it. I really don't like the twist up style of the product. If you happen to lose the cap (and please don't - you'll forever regret it), the product will dry out and you will not be able to work the product up out of the packaging. Currently, after 2 months, I am able to get one string of primer out of the package. Bear in mind there are probably 50 holes in the thing. I'm guessing they are all clogged up. I'm not sure. I don't want to pull it open and investigate. But don't lose that cap. Seriously. But more than that, it just didn't have the brightening effect that I was looking for. I didn't see much of a difference at all. Maybe my face doesn't need brightening, I don't know. But if it did, this wouldn't be the product I'd reach for. I didn't find that it helped extend the life of my foundation, nor did it help achieve that flawless finish that I'm used to. For $27 an ounce, I need a bit more performance. But don't worry Benefit, I still love you. I love your Eye Bright, EyeCon, Ooh la la lift, and just about everything else that you've ever made.4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Exactly ad described
by jmvalerio (3 reviews)Primer fills in pores and brightens. I personally love the smell and the cool feeling it leaves on my skin. Can also be reapplied during the day and will not cake in. Only problem is the price $27 for so little.... May 30, 2008, 6:43 am3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

Not sure why this is called a primer ...

February 12, 2008, 6:11 pm I have been intrigued with this product because I love the idea that I could have a make-up primer that would add a bit of a healthy glow to my skin. Unfortunately, this is not the product to do that. I didn't find that That Gal worked as a primer at all - it did nothing to make my skin look or feel smoother or to make my make-up last any longer. I can't say it's a complete waste of time, though. I did find that the slight brightening effect lightens under eye circles just a bit when blended on top of concealer. So, there's that. But I definitely will not repurchase.3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I am a devoted fan of "Brow Zings" and "Lemon Aid." However, "That Gal" brightening face primer left much to be desired. It did not have any shimmer at all and was quite drying. I purchased it based on the "glowing" reveiw it received in Allure magazine. While I will continue to be a loyal fan of Benefit products "That Gal" will not be one of the products I purchase in the future.2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

A great primer that offers a little something extra!
