This tanner smells like lemon iced tea and tends to get everywhere. It takes a while to dry and has a brown undertone. I have extremely pasty legs. A full-on tan would look unnatural, but I wanted a product that would take the glare off. I switched to this product from a very similar product from Jergens after Consumer Reports gave it a thumbs up. It does have that self-tanner smell, but it's ever-so-faint and mostly masked by a sweet smell that I like. It takes about three days to see results, but the subtle, natural tan is worth the wait. In the meantime, this product distributes shimmer when you use it. Upon first applying this product, I liked it. It was thin enough to apply evenly and soaked in quickly. It smelled good, and the shimmer was pretty, not bothersome. By the end of the day, I was satisfied with the noticeable color change. However, after a shower the next morning, I found I was back at square one. The "tan" washed off almost completely, except in a few drier spots. Because of this, a week of daily use left me sort of blotchy. The majority of color in this product seems to just sit on top of the skin waiting to be removed, rather than staining it for a lasting "tan". Further evidence of the color's easy removal is it's obvious transfer to clothing. I know most self tanners do rub off on bra straps and such, but this seemed to be a worse offender.
