WOW--Surprisingly Effective!
I am forever on the prowl for the perfect mascara. At this time of year, I need a waterproof formula which truly doesn't clump, smudge, or budge whether I am in high humidity or the ocean. Because it is pliable, I use a second coat for additional "oomph." When all lashes are completely covered and separated well, you do have more glamour than you expected. A little disappointed!
I purchased both the Waterproof and regular versions and the review is almost the same. This lesson has definitely reminded me that what works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for another. :( First, the positives. Pretty, feathery, defined lashes. Very natural looking, so if you are looking for vampy volume, I would pass on this mascara. The brush is small but in a good way! It is easy to get all of the lashes with this brush. I came across a WNW mascara that I was loving for the "natural" look but this one was so highly rated that I wanted to give it a try, too! I did experience some minor clumping even though the product states no globs or clumps, but the biggest issue for me was smudging under my lower lash line. I applied 2 coats to the top and 1 to the bottom; within 5-7 hours, there were smudges under my eyes. If anyone has any tips to prevent that, please let me know! (I had concealer under my eyes and a light dusting of setting powder.) I tried it on both the upper and lower lashes, but purchased it specifically for the lower lashline and found that I really didn't like it on either lashline. (The mini brush is super tiny and makes it so easy to get in the lower lashline.) The reviews are so overwhelmingly positive, that I would still give it a try as it might work for you! Maybe purchase from a store that allows returns even after trying, such as Ulta. Its not bad
The mini brush is very cute, and makes it easy to apply to all the lashes. The formula is ok though, it doesn't clump which is great, but doesn't do a whole lot to my lashes. It adds very minimal volume for me. If you have naturally thick lashes and just want something to slightly enhance them then this would be great for you. Bottom Lash Mascara
This mascara is really good, not just for length and holding curl, but also for lower lashes. I didnt want to fork out the cash for the Clinique bottom lash mascara so I just used this in black/brown. Effective and beautiful. perfect for locking in curls!
i have very straight, long eyelashes that stubbornly refuse to curl. i discovered the miraculous shisheido eyelash curler a while ago and was so glad when my stubborn asian lashes finally succumbed to an eye-opening curl! but whenever i tried to add even more definition to my lashes with mascara, they would droop straight down again =( i tried several brands, even the “curling” mascaras, but n...read moreothing worked; mascara was kryptonite to my temporarily curled lashes, and i’ve settled for curled but thin and skimpy lashes. after reading about maybelline’s waterproof lash discovery mascara in an article and reviews on total beauty, i gave it a try – best purchase ever! i was a bit wary of the teeny tiny brush at first, but it magically grabs every lash and adds just the right amount of mascara to brighten my eyes – no clumping, super stiff or spider lashes. not a lot of volume or crazy length, but definitely a noticable difference. it’s waterproof so no smudging and amazingly lasts (even through 90 minutes of hot yoga AFTER a long day at the office!) but it doesn’t take too much effort to remove w/ a little eye-makeup remover. my only complaint is cleaning the brush; usually, i wipe mascara brushes off with a tissue before each application to avoid clumps but this brush seems to attract “tissue lint” - which leads to clumping. i would suggest wiping it off with a cloth instead…This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 9 people said helpful

Great for Lengthening
This masacara has the perfect wand for lengthening lashes. I would probably choose something else if you are aiming for intense volume or curl but this is what I use for bottom lashes and when I want a more natural, feathery look. Cheap and worth every penny!
My eyes tear up on a regular basis all day and I have sensitive eyes. Therefore, it is imperative I have a bottom lash mascara that, 1) is waterproof; 2) really, really stays on; 3) doesn’t create “raccoon eyes;” and 4) doesn’t irritate my eyes (that is especially important since I often commit the cardinal sin of falling asleep at night before I removing my mascara – or any makeup for...read more that matter!). Maybelline Mini-Brush Waterproof Mascara gives me exactly what I want and need. I only apply Maybelline to my lower lashes because I use a Lancôme lash-building product (“Hypnose Drama”) for the top eyelashes (I don’t want my bottom lashes to have “drama” with globs of mascara on them - like the late Tammy Faye Baker’s lashes…). Before using the Maybelline mascara, I apply Lancôme’s oscillating lash primer. I find it makes ANY mascara hold better and it allows me to get good color on the lashes without applying a lot of mascara. This is the only Maybelline mascara product I have ever used that does exactly what its advertisement says. It stays on, does not run, provides good color, comes off easily, does not irritate my eyes, is extremely cheap (I usually pay about $2.00 for the mascara when I buy it on sale at CVS and use the Sunday paper $1.00 coupons), is easy to use, doesn’t take up a lot of space in the makeup drawer, and lasts a long time. Another plus for this mascara is the “mini” round brush and its short bristles. It’s so awesome to have this type of brush for lower lashes that are very fine and short. However, this mascara is also good to use for the top lashes closest to your nose. These lashes are usually pretty fine and short, too. With bigger brushes, you run the chance of getting mascara on your nose or other parts of your eye when trying to apply mascara to this inside area. (And we all know how that kind of error can really throw off the completion time for your eye makeup application.) Mini Power
This tiny brush has it's pros and cons. Those with scant lashes might not get much length or volume. I have long, but sparse lashes so I use Lash Discovery with another volumizing mascara. It defines the smaller lashes the bigger brush misses. Lash discovery also works wonders for my bottom lashes. Reliable waterproof
