Caustic. This formula is an astringent meaning that it contains more alcohol than a toner does and my sensitive skin turned bright red after using this. Two days later, my skin began to flake and peel immensely that I couldn't conceal any patches of dried skin. It was a terrible feeling and sight that my skin was shedding and it overdried my oily skin which means this is too harsh. If you have any acne or broken skin, this will painfully aggravate your skin as it is not gentle at all. I also found the scent of the formula very much similar to an old stocked medicine cabinet. Don't damage your skin by saturating and drying it with alcohol, stick to something that contains less of alcohol and more gentle ingredients. I'd steer clear of important events if I were anyone trying this out the first time as it makes skin look uncontrolled. Don't put it near my skin!4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

It will dry out the skin on your fingers if you get any product on them. The dryness can be an unfortunate side effect. But I keep using it becuase it works!4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

Very good

The point of Salacylic acid is to reduce the amount of oil on the skin by breaking it down. While the level of SA in this product is too mild to cause a major change in skin, like a peel would, regular use should reduce the amount of oil and, thus, the amount of breakouts. This is a good daily or, for more sensitive skin, every other day use to maintain clear skin. For the price, it is definitely worth a try if you have oily skin and/or breakouts.2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I have combination skin and I do use glycolic acids and retinols without any problem, but this stuff was harsh and it took a few days for my skin to recover from it and go back to it's normal state.1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

by Samarita (66 reviews)
i use this toner most of the time, twice a day. on occasional more breakout days i use it more. With this i noticed i break out less. removes the oilies, and don't overdo though, if you are sensitive to strong astringents. cheap and efficient. Best Astringent Ever
by This1sAhKilla (48 reviews)
I've been using this product since I was 16, whenever I get out of the shower I use it after I have exfoliated my face, and it makes whatever pimples that I have dry up really quick. I love it. It also makes my skin feel so clean & I feel like I'm getting all the make up residue off that maybe my wash cloth left behind. March 11, 2008, 8:02 am1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Okay for teens, but...
by ModernDayWriter (147 reviews)
I used this product when I was a teenager and had oily skin with occasional breakouts. I tried it again recently and found it to be WAY too drying for adult skin. True, it does get rid of the pimples pretty quickly, but you'll be flaking for days afterwards. Good value though, a bottle of this lasts forever.
