Single - good, 3-Wick - not as good

The single- wick candle works well at adding ambiance to a room and eliminating odors. And you don't have to pay attention to the clock too terribly attentively. Multiple times, I've thrown away the 3-wick candle because I let it burn twenty minutes too long and the scent turned foul while the candle went black. I won't buy either again but I really haven't had a problem with the one-wick. I do like these candles, I have one in lemon which my husband loves, and one for when it really smells in some kind of tropical fragrance (can't remember the name). These candles are okay. I am a HUGE candle connoisseur, in fact, I even have two cabinets full of candles and home fragrance. Friends say I am addicted; so what? I am a happy addict. :) However, to compare to another brand (Yankee) that is easily available, I actually prefer Yankee. For one, you get more for your money. I o...nly buy Slatkins at the BBW outlet or when they are on sale. The Slatkins are smaller for the price compared to the Yankees. Plus, you can't beat it at Bed Bath and Beyond with the coupons and the Yankee candle of the month. Two, the Yankee scents are consistent throughout the entire burning experience. The Slatkins are scented with oil. When they are lit for too long (more than 3 hours or so - and yes, I am guilty of this!), the oil burns before the wax does. You end up with inches of wax left and no scent. Ick. Overall, I just don't think they are the "World's Geatest" - and this is coming from a candle snob. However, Vanilla Shortbread is my absolute favorite scent! I would sacrifice my first born for this candle.
