Dressing your lashes with a creamy, off-white negligee sounds sexy until these "skivvies" start to flake off. I applaud this primer's partially recycled packaging and average-sized, easy-to-use design. But the formula falls short of expectations. It goes on smoothly and seems to boost lash length, but doesn't add much volume. Once mascara goes on, it begins to flake -- a nightmare for contact-lens wearers.

    I LOVE this stuff

    I know the editor's review is luke-warm, but this product works wonders for me and I rarely put mascara on without it. I typically don't have problems with flaking so maybe that's why I have no complaints. It gives me the va-va-voom length I'm going for. First I apply this, then a lengthening mascara (currently Define a ...Lash by Maybelline), then finish off with a volumizing Mascara (3-D Extreme by Revlon.) November 27, 2007, 3:02 pm

    I really liked this lash primer - but it doesn't beat Shiseido's Mascara base. I got this in a holiday set with the Fringe Benefits so I figured, no loss of $ even if I didn't like it. What a pleasant surprise! Not only were my lashes fuller, longer and more defined, it also made my cheapie drugstore mascaras not flake. December 18, 2007, 4:55 pm

    I can live without it

    This is just one more step in putting on makeup. The quality is fine, a little wet. However, I did not find a significant difference in using this product compared to regular mascara. This product lasted all day. Money-wise, just buy regular mascara, you'll get the same results. May 9, 2008, 11:11 am

    Great for lengthening short lashes

    I do not use this product, but I bought it for my mom who has very short lashes. She used this product, under her mascara, and people asked her if she was wearing fake lashes! This is awesome, but she said to only use ONE coat under your mascara and wait a few seconds for it to dry April 30, 2008, 11:57 pm

    time & money you won't get back

    Does the product do what it says? Well --- yes. It does make my lashes look longer and fuller than a single coat of mascara. But it does not look or perform any better than 3 coats of mascara. Since, for hygene reasons, mascara should be discarded after 3 months, using this product and 1 coat of mascara, insures tha...t I am throwing out nearly full tubes of mascara every 3 months -- wasting money on both lash primer and mascara. This was a waste of time and money. May 25, 2009, 4:54 am

    I love this

    I have used this and the mascara for over 20 yrs. I have tried others and they don't hold a candle to this one. As we get older we lose our lashes and this helped to make you look like you have more. I wear contacts and don't have a problem with flakeing. The more you use it the more you like this product.     I have been using origins underwear for lashes for several years. It helps to condition my lashes plus it also helps when I take my make up off, the mascara comes off very nicely. July 1, 2008, 5:42 am
