Gross
I have always been a big fan of clinique’s makeup offerings. Their eyeshadows especially have always been among my very favorites. However, I never seem to have even the slightest bit of luck when it comes to their skin care products. Still, I wanted to give this face protecting product a shot, since I know how important it is to keep my skin guarded against the sun’s rays, particularly since I now live in Florida, the sunshine state. I also work out every day, and so wanted a product that I did not have to worry about washing off before I began my workout. I applied this product in the morning prior to putting on my makeup, so it would have adequate time to soak into my skin before I went outside of the house. However, when I tried to apply my makeup, I noticed that it kept smearing and appeared to be sliding right off of my skin, even though I allowed several minutes for the product to dry. I found the scent of the product to be pleasant enough—it was not too heavy or perfumed, which I appreciated. Its consistency was fairly light, which I thought was another one of its high points. However, it severely impeded my makeup application, and made my face appear greasy, and I do not ordinarily have oily skin. I work in a professional setting so it is important for me to look polished, and I definitely did not with my face all shiny. Throughout the day, I noticed that the skin and oily feeling persisted, and my face did not feel fresh. I cannot say for certain that it did anything helpful in the way of protecting my skin, as I was so completely turned off by the greasiness that it left behind. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 10 people said helpful

Terrible smell
Clinique was one of the first "decent" skin care lines I started trying, but I quickly lost interest in it because the products aren't right for ME. I did try this out because I was looking for a higher spf protection for my face, but wasn't going to irritate my very sensitive skin. So I decided to give Clinique a chance and I was disappointed. First off, let me tell you what I like. For one, I like that it has a blend of chemical sunscreens and physical sunscreens. The chemical sunscreens are going to absorb into the skin and absorb the uv rays before they can damage your skin cells. The physical sunscreens sit on the surface and reflect the uv rays away from your skin. Therefore you have both the surface and subsurface layers of skin. Second, I love how many anti-oxidants are in this. Chemical sunscreens have a bad habit of creating free-radicals that can damage your skin, but those anti-oxidants neutralize them so they become stable. What I don't like about this product is what makes it unbearable and impossible for me to wear. First off, the smell is horrendous. It might likely be me, but this smells awful compared to other sunscreens. It makes me cringe and I can't stand putting on my face. Second, I just don't like the way it feels on my skin. It feels and looks greasy and it just doesn't absorb into the skin like other products. It's not even anything to do with the sunscreens in it. This is just a product that is wrong for me. Even though the price is better than other sunscreens, I'd rather pay twice as much if it's going to give me the experience and protection that I want. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 7 of 14 people said helpful

super protection
This sunscreen goes on so smoothly onto my skin. It seems to really sink in and not make my face greasy at all. I used it today after work before heading out to run errands today over my makeup. It felt nice and not too heavy at all. One of my favorite sunblocks. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 14 people said helpful
