not for acne-prone skin
I tried this a few months ago when I got a free sample. I had high hopes, but unfortunately, it made me break out. It's obviously not for acne-prone skin, and it's really expensive to boot. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love it!!
The first Philosophy product I fell in love with. Some moisturizers leave my face looking and feeling oily after a while but this one hasn't failed me yet. Like that it doesn't have a perfume smell so it doesn't irritate my skin. — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Works Well on My Skin
I like this moisturizer. It is very rich & does smell wierd but it makes my skin glow. I only use it at night though. It's too much for me during the day. But there is one draw back for me, if I get it too close to my eyes, they start to burn. So I have to be super careful where I put it on my face. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

This really works
I used this when I was younger. It always left my skin soft and hydrated. I liked the smell, my husband hated it! — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Smells Horrible!
This moisturizer smells absolutely horrible! And, it will make your face become irritated the more you use it. It is lightweight and doesn't clog the pores. But, it just has an overwhemingly bad scent to it, that I can't understand how anyone could approve of. — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

First non drugstore moisturizer I've used
Back in middle and high school like everyone else I have acne prone skin. I used so much benzoyl peroxide and other over drying products I really needed a good moisturizer. This is the first one I used that stopped my skin from flaking and wasn't super oily. The cons it needs a SPF ( I hear now they have a version with SPF but I have yet to try it) and it could smell better — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Wonderful
I have oily skin that tends to get painfully stingingly depending on the time of year. In the winter my face hurts from dry skin. This Hope in a Jar is wonderful! Just a dab a tiny little bit absorbs instantly into my skin, and then I am done, my face is relieved and no longer dry and never greasy, unless.... I use too much, then, it does get oily about an hour after application. So, I have learned just a little tiny bit. I leaves my skin looking plumper and soft. And it feels refreshed and soothed. — 3 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

light moisturizer
This is a very light moisturizer. It doesn't leave any greasiness on the skin. The scent is also really light so you can barely smell it. It works well but might not be good for very dry skin. I do like this product. — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Thankful it was a FREE sample
If I had actually paid for this product with my hard earned money I would have been furious. After finally getting more balanced skin thanks to my purchase of a Clarisonic, I was looking for a face lotion that would hydrate without making me oily. THIS WAS NOT IT. It just sat on my skin, made my face itch, and smelled like a cheap dryer sheet. I expected a lot more from Philosophy. I only made it 2 hours without having to wash it off completely. Never again. — 4 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
